It blows me away how many motorcyclists believe that ditching the bike and sliding is the safer option... It's significantly more dangerous and people need to stop.
Lean away from the ground and let it grind your pedals/handles into dust. It's a lot better than hoping your leathers don't turn into paste.

I laid a bike down decades ago (shitty kawasaki, 130cc. Wasn't exactly a beast or anything) and slid at least 100ft. Ground the right pedal and shift down to unusable levels, but I only had some friction burns vs. having that be skin on concrete. Blind turn downhill at night and I wasn't familiar with the road. Learned several very valuable lessons that night.



Riding is very fun on open roads, but holy shit terrifying (imo) in most other situations. The 70s this ain't.
