Things were great back then! We went to Blockbuster but also had a smaller locally owned movie store in the shopping center close to the house. Every Friday it was pizza and a movie, and we'd have a second movie for Saturday. Rented our share of video games too. My brother and I would try to convince Dad it was more cost effective if he'd just buy us the game, rather than renting in several weeks in a row.I was more excited about renting movies at Blockbuster was around than being able to watch any movie all the time in the age of Netflix.
I had 3 video stores within walking distance from my house when I was a kid. Blockbuster in one direction, Hollywood video in another and the local mom and pop shop video store. The mom and pop video store was eventually shut down because they sold and rented shit like Faces of Death to kids. Ask me how I know? LmaoThings were great back then!
