I had no idea those tires were so heavy. Tires and rims they can weigh as much as 1,100lbs...

I took the kids to monster jam this year and that happened at our event. The tire hit one of those big shipping containers at the end that they use as a barricade. Not only did it move the shipping container but it let out the most thunderous sound you can imagine when it hit.

The deinstitutionalization was already happening before Reagan but he did have a significant role in it. Both as Governor and President. He signed the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act, which led to many hospitals being shut down in California, patients being released and a bunch of other shit. Then the Omnibus he signed as President cut funding even more, resulting in more closures, more patients being released across the country and then blocked grants. Reagan didn't shut them down personally but he might as well have. It's because of the shit he signed in and blocked that has led to over population in prisons, homelessness crisis, and who the fuck knows what else.

Point is... Reagan was a MAJOR player in asylums disappearing.
