I try to explain this, even to my wife.

Men are visual, women are not (as much) and more emotional and feels-based. Even rom-coms and the like are like softcore porn equivalents. But she just brushes it off as would/does every female. Reading these books are not the same as evil bad men watching pronz!!! burn the men!
