Im pretty sure when i went to taiwan the crossing light was michael jackson moonwalking, or was it it hong long, could be both, mj is still the king. Anyway the dudes name is also michael so when he gets hit with the asian tv trope of a van, they do this mid season when they have no more story to write or they want an easy "soft reset" , of when the main character made a huge breakthrough with the main actress, usually professing love or uncovering a super secret, they now amnesia it all away and spend the next 10 episodes with the drama of reliving the first half again.
So its more luz when he got hit from the bitch, cuz he was fine and they just decides to cgi mj in there for the lilz i am also guessing
