Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

There are 6 that are considered 'human hunters'. As in, deliberately target humans. Just not defensive or opportunistic attacks. Technically 7 if you separate Nile crocs from saltwater.

Tigers
Lions
Polar Bear
Leopards
Nile and Saltwater crocodiles
Reticulated Pythons

And cougars. And sharks. And squid. And grizzlies. And black bears. The whole "thats not their preferred food" shit is old. Hungry things eat. These things consume the people. A fat bitch eating a salad when they're out of cake doesn't mean she wasn't hunting it.

None of what you mentioned purposely hunt humans. Shark 'attacks' very rarely end with a complete devour. It's the investigative bite that is usually deadly. Squids don't activately hunt humans either. In fact, they largely leave humans alone. Cougars are territorial but don't actively hunt humans, they tend to stay away from humans. Black bears will investigate and will attack but aren't human hunters, grizzlies are also territorial and extremely protective of cubs and will defend. They don't actively hunt humans.

Not anywhere did I say humans weren't "preferred food" you're trying to argue against something that wasn't said.

Humans are also omnivores, so your analogy doesn't hit like you think it does.

We're not talking an individual animal from X species that will or has eaten a human. I'm talking about the SPECIES has incorporated humans into their diet.

Even institutions such as the Smithsonian classified the specific animals I listed as human hunters or man-eaters.

Rarely they do eat you. When they're hungry, like most things do. And they stalk and hunt you, like they do with every animal. Cohabitation limits this. Saltwater crocs removed from people are the bulk. Saltwater crocodiles living next to people are individuals. Most polar bears don't encounter people. The ones that do eat people, and every other living thing near them.

I forgot komodo dragons too. Southeast asia seems to be a hotspot, perhaps because a car crash is 200 fatalities the way they stack on eachother so it is a herd to hunt.

Big predators eat smaller available things when they're hungry and in proximity.
