Yes.

so far the best episodes I’ve seen are:

S1 “Ice” and “Darkness Falls”

those are great isolated one shot stories that you could pick up to rewatch.

The writing in the show is pretty top notch in the early seasons.
Wait til you get to the fluke man! Think that's in season 2. Then there's also the episode that originally got banned for TV further down the road.

There really are just so many good one shot monster of the week episodes. I remember when it was originally airing back when I was in eighth grade, had a bunch of us at school would watch it on Friday evenings at our houses and then talk about it during the following week.

Yes. He was a vampire!! That's a great episode.
Should have probably spoiled it since the dudes watching it for the first time, that's why I didn't mention it.

That episode also has a Luke Wilson, too. Thinking about it there's quite a bit of cameos or guest appearances from a bunch of different actors that I think wanted to do an episode kind of like Star Trek throughout the series.

I rewatched it all back at the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 when I was laid up from my accident. I also remember being excited to go see the movie when it came out back in high school or college with all my buddies. Don't remember what season it's supposed to take place between, and I vaguely remember the second film.

That right there is what we're really missing. No-one wants to discuss, debate, or even rave about slop. X-Files, Lost, etc. used to get us talking. Strangers in a restaurant would hear your table talking about something and want to get involved in the conversation. That horse died.

I used to set my VCR to record it during high School football season because of the games on Friday, and was happy when they finally shipped it over to Sunday evenings I think after The Simpsons, that way I never missed an episode when it aired unless I was working and then you'd still fire up the VCR.

It really was one of the greatest shows. Millennium wasn't too bad either, and I forget the other one that Carter was trying to do, Strange Lands maybe? I'm still pissed that Space Above and Beyond got canceled though, which I think he was involved with as well.

Scully is in the X-Files as the empirical evidence person and voice of reason, but she's proven incorrect almost every episode and admits it. There's no way Ryan Coogler is going to write a flawed educated black woman in that role. The issue with Ryan Coogler directing and writing the new show is the characters have to be deeply flawed and modern audience writers only write girlbosses and strawmen.

There will be a racially charged IT: Welcome to Derry scene and the masses will praise it for historical accuracy.

The monster of the week will be the white supervisor in charge.

Wasn't that basically the premise for that Lovecraft Country show? Part of me wanted to just see an episode or two, but I just couldn't get myself to do it.
