The Zone of Interest (2023)

Jonathan Glazer does not make many movies, but when he does it's, at the very least, interesting and worth watching. I think I already posted it here before, but the opening scene of Birth is so memorable, it's worth reposting.

It takes a certain kind of maestria to keep us at the edge of our seat with a movie that tells so little... and yet so much at the same time. Very impressive. It should be noted that it is an adaptation of a novel, except he basically removed all the fictional plot of the novel to keep tightly focused on the horror that is humans' ability to rationalize the most outlandish situations (and that quite the euphemism here).

I must say that while I watched it, I wondered like Adebisi if your average modern teenager would understand what is going on.

Jews aren't in the film

Meh, this was certainly not my style. I'm biased to like historical show, and while I don't need action in movies, I like to have something interesting happening at least.

The long ass black screen at the start screamed that this was a "I smell my own farts" artsy movie and it didn't really improve all that much after it. The best I can say is that at least it wasn't Eraserhead artsy shit.
