I built the strat-style guitar. Started with an unfinished fretted neck and a finished body.
I was kinda born into it. I have a family (large extended family, too) who all does it. And I tend to keep things simple - I don't do much with the lathe. I prefer the Shaker style - square and light, which is different than the mission style, which is square, but much heavier in feel. I do a lot of hand work with chisels, and I use a router a lot. Biscuit joiner, and a lot of different kinds of sanders - pedestal sander for smaller work is my preference. I keep things pretty simple. How did you get into it? and what kind of tools do you use?

I like building/making stuff. Built my last few houses except for my current one.
Right now I'm about 3/4 of the way thru building my own teardrop camper that I use as a basecamp while taking multi week backpacking trips. Eventually it will be covered in aluminum, have a tongue box with an A/C unit, and fenders. Right now I'm working on the rear hatch that opens up the kitchen area in the rear. The actual camper part is 9'-6" long and 5' wide and 4' tall. The inside front part for the bed is 76" on the floor and a 1' cabinet at the front. The rest is under the back hatch in the kitchen.

I don't have any pictures handy, but I should! I'll find some and post them. Can we get some pictures of you working? or of your work station?
It can be a blessing and a curse. My house is both - I love having things to work on, I'm getting tired of it. This house was a repossessed crackhouse, so every floor, wall, and ceiling needed redoing. I have only a bathroom and a kitchen left. Then I'll be able to get back to making furniture.I miss having a house and a garage =( Now all the projects I can do are software or electronics related and that shit gets old after doing it all day.
