TQ 2 is out in Early access.

base price is pretty cheap. AA pricing. $30. down to $24 for launch.

char creator. only presets atm.
wasd movement.
more masteries.
more acts. only act 1 atm.

History of course.
Ironlore games made Titan quest, and it was published by THQ. Ironlore went under, and reformed as Crate Entertainment. Crate then made Grimdawn, using TQ1 engine.

ironlore/Crate has nothing to do with this game.
THQ owns the IP. They hired Grimlore games to make this. grimlore games made spellforce 3 previously.

(didn't see a thread in searches, only a post in the TQ 1 thread, on its announcement. )

Hm I was excited but I didn't know Crate was not involved. Will wait for it to get outta EA in that case...

Crate is still working on Grim Dawn, there's another expansion coming at some point in the future(2026 probably) and possibly they're starting work on Grim Dawn 2 also(granted they apparently hadn't even started when they announced the expansion so... yeah not anytime soon, if ever).

Honestly this doesn't look bad from the videos they've shown, but it also looks like a very early EA with not much content, so definitely not something I'm going to bother with for like a year at least.

Reviews look promising. People saying it plays well and looks great. Hopefully they can deliver on the mechanics, loot, and content. Agree it doesn’t look like something to try for another year or so, only has act 1 so far.

Caliane got that part wrong, WASD is already in game, I been using it and it works great. It's a toggle at the end of the Options menu:

A bit more. yeah, Crate leased the TQ1 engine to make Grimdawn. I guess thq owned that too.

Crate and Ironlore previously, is from Mass, USA.

Titanquest expacs. Ragnarok 2017, and Atlantis 2019 were made by Pieces interactive. (alone in the dark, and a ton of Magicka dlc) Part of Embracer. shut down after alone in the dark failed. Eternal embers expac 2021 was Digital Arrow. Serbian. made stuff I never heard of.

Grimlore is a Bavarian studio. Also part of Embracer group.

This looks pretty solid. I've been watching Quin play it for a little while. I'm going to pick it up while it's on sale, with the assumption that I won't play it for at least a year.

The OG Titan Quest is probably my 2nd favorite ARPG of all-time.

yeah, I did the same, might as well buy it for $24 before they jack it up to $50 on full release, I'll just play it whenever they add a significant amount of content.

Yeah, def going to pick this up. Keep wanting to do another thousandth playthrough of TQ1 but the expansions make it convoluted.

I'm a sucker for any isometric ARPG.

Edit - hopefully they learn from some of the best TQ1 mods and we don't need endless mules for all the crafting shit.
