I starts playing this again a month or two ago. Seems like the game is at a great spot now compared to when I quit playing and is now significantly better than WH2.

Immortal Empires is great. But it's so big I always end up putting battles on easy and auto-resolving my way through the campaign. It just takes forever to fight all the battles manually and auto-resolve is retarded on higher difficulty.

Auto-resolving everything sounds like missing out on half the game though. If you're ok with manually fighting on VH/Legendary but can't stand the poor autoresolve when it's not worth the time or doesn't seem like a fun fight, pretty sure there's some autoresolve mods out there that apply a 1.X modifier to autoresolve calculations.

I'll fight the fun battles against enemy legendary lords but after a while it's kind of pointless. I just played a kolek suneater campaign and once he gets a stack of dragon ogres and shaggoths nothing is standing up to him. He will roll 4 enemy armies and end the battle at full health. The only battles I will lose are newly recruited armies or some settlements that don't have walls built yet.

And then you have pretty much any legendary lord worth having as a vassal it's like the game is over in 50 or 60 turns. You're just blazing across the map not even worried about territory. Get 10 or so dark fortresses and vassilize every faction you come across and difficulty level doesn't matter. I always play on legendary because you make a lot more money sacking but no one is really a challenge.

Immortal Empires Expanded recently got an update that really fleshed out the Ind and Kuresh maps, supposedly there's some faction mods in the works for both since CA hasn't indicated they're pursuing either.

Been using the Southern Realms and Araby mods for a while now (they're both great) and recently the Hung and a bunch of Ogre Kingdoms LLs were added.

Seems like the player base has finally snapped.

I own all DLC for this game, but this one I'm going to pass on until reviews are out.

A sponsored review like the one above means nothing to me.

Given that they pushed out a previous update which basically set some races to non-active, I don't have any faith left.

Well you don't need to buy the DLC to play Throgg or Wulfgar updated. You will miss out on a couple new units and can't confederate the DLC lord but other than that it should be a huge boon to those 2.

Haven't played Slaanesh since pre-Immortal Empires, so I'm looking forward to this. Only thing I'm tentatively disappointed about is Sayl - why doesn't he have some mechanic around breaking treaties/alliances instead of just Norscan Changing of the Ways, and why the fuck isn't Nightmaw a summon or LH?

Man that will hopefully be a bad ass campaign.

Hopefully they base it somewhat on the immortal empires map and not one of the crappy smaller campaigns.
They know Immortal Empires is all anyone plays, I imagine there will be an End Times toggle option (if you're not playing as Nagash) similar to the current endgame crises.

Speaking of Immortal Empires, it's free now for I and II owners with the obvious restrictions that you can only play factions you own.

Yeah, it'll be Immortal Empires, and maybe additional smaller things depending on what they mean by "sandbox campaigns."

It’s hard to believe, but the Warhammer series is about to hit its 10-year milestone, and what better way to celebrate than with something truly apocalyptic. In summer 2026, the Lords of The End Times storm into the Immortal Empires campaign, bringing with them four brand-new Legendary Lords from different races alongside a deadly host of new units, lore inspired objectives and sandbox campaigns.

Leading the charge is none other than Nagash, the great necromancer himself. Long whispered about in the darkest corners of the lore, he returns with one goal: to drown the world in undeath. He’ll be joined by a motley crew of horrors including the mighty Blood Dragon Legendary Hero, Walach Harkon, alongside Tomb Heralds, Morghast Archai, the Khemric Titan and more.

But that’s not all. These new Legendary Lords arrive alongside the free End Times Update, a transformative new addition to Immortal Empires inspired by pivotal chapters from the lore. Expect a revamped campaign experience; cataclysmic events, apocalyptic scenarios, and all new campaign customisation options. And to crown this update, a new Legendary Lord will rise, ready to leave their mark on the cataclysm to come. There’s more to come, and we’ll share additional details as development moves forward into the new year.

Finally, we’re in the early stages of developing our End Times content. What we’ve shared represents our current vision, but it may evolve as development continues - as always with the goal of delivering the best possible experience for all of you.
