The spinoff will probably end up being better than the main show. Not that that is going to be too difficult to accomplish.

It might be cool if they treated it as an anthology series: a bunch of stand-alone tales set in the universe.

I remember being upset that they didn't go through with this when I heard about it awhile back, from an interview with Sam Witwer. He said that's why he was in the pilot (undead army guy in tank); said there was supossed to be a mini/spin off about how he got there.

How do you manage to do a spinoff on a show this bad?

I don't understand. Who's paying for this? And why? Why?

That said, it actually would be pretty cool if every episode was just a different zombie story. It'd be better than Walking Dead at least. Not that that's saying much.

Dude, TWD is very popular. Regardless of how much hate it gets here(deservedly so, in my opinion), people love this shit!

Here's the thing, i have "tv night" with wife/friends/family/neighbors we someone's house and watch a block of tv.

usually i'm "the guy" oh he knows about got, he knows about twd, and i'm the "tech geek". I mean a bunch of these neighbors LOVE dexter, this current season, they are engrossed in it, many of them are in AWE of zombies, a neighbor couldn't understand why i hated Andrea, and thought i might be mysogonistic, i'm like no you dumb bitch, i hate this Andrea because i can't tell your dumb ass any comic spoilers and tv Andrea has ruined comic Andrea for me. And by all accounts she's not dumb, she's director level in the government.

and i'm one guy in a room of 8, almost everyone is having a good time with twd, so yea spinoff.

Here's a thought: how about making TWD something approaching watchable and not snooze worthy before pumping cash into a spin-off? Having said that, it'll probably be a hit because it'll be 'new', 'fresh' or 'take the story in a new direction'. People are going to watch no matter what. I'll probably be among the masses who check it out anyway.

Here's my pitch for a TWD spin-off: Walking Dead Chronicles.

The basis for the show is that it will take a certain element from a regular TWD episode (a plot point, a random zombie, a location) and basically create a backstory for it. They've already done this with the Webisodes to a degree (the zombie woman from the pilot) and toyed with the idea for the show proper (the previous idea to explain how the tank zombie ended up that way in the pilot). The episode won't tell you how it connects with the main show until the end, when they play a scene from the mainshow that involves the element that the spin-off show was exploring. For instance, you could show the prison during the outbreak and delve into that, or some memorable zombie from an episode (the one that killed Dale, for instance), or even explore a side character in the main show, like how Sophia became a zombie or how the Governor's daughter ended up as one or Michone's backstory. Maybe have guest writers/actors for the 1st season, or better yet, have a CONTEST that allows for fan submissions of scripts (like TNG used to do back in the day). Maybe pick like a few fanmade scripts to be made into anthology episodes. That would generate a lot of interest.

When u have a cable show doing better then network shows and by alot, u try to capitalize on it. The question is why the fuck not. I'm sure there will be a lot of people willing to pay for this.

Show is a fucking beast ratings wise.

id go for a show that each week was about a different small band of survivors dealing with zombie attacks and each week these people may or not survive. the next week would be totally different people location and circumstances. then at the end of the season try to tie them all together. if TWD wasnt a pos id say do a crossover like they did with dr who, torchwood and sarah jane smith

Its hard enough watching TWD and Dexter alone, I cant imagine the rage I would feel watching it with a room full of idiots that love these shows. Have you considered divorce? I kid I kid

my wife actually has about the same opinions i have, of course they differ. It just get's worse as the 6 degree's spread, like our friends are ok... but then we meet their neighbors and then the other neighbors... well you can choose your friends, just not who gets to live next door to you.
