We've known this a while. Internet peaked in mid 2000s. Since then its been all downhill.
Remember when every site, every forum you went to was a bastion of extreme hot takes, brutal truths, hidden nuggets of wild information and chaotic unmoderated trolling. A web of fohs if you will.

Honestly I blame Bush for that - he started to do his war on porn around that time, but it had the knockon effect of making advertisers and payment processors really skittish about all sorts of content beyond erotic stuff.

Haha, the tries to pretend to be a journalist. 24 hrs max. Dude had all the convos of his discord purged a few days ago as a precaution. He's not worried about twitch, he's only concerned about the potential outside legal threats. So he's trying to get rid of the paper trail. But he might be too stupid, aren't messaging service like discord, ms teams etc required by law to keep the records for a period of time even after user deleted them? Or it might be an EU thing only

Yes, all your chat on discord is logged, even if you delete it, the amount of meta-data is intense too.

Yeah. There is no "deleting" discord chat. It's stored server side.

Really that applies to all internet things but even more-so when discord is involved.

They won't just say what you did, they will say, what you did, who was in the room, what people reacted how..and a host of other common elements like, where you were when you said it, what device you were on, any device telemetry...likely even more info is available behind the scenes. Most of this shit was available from a info request.

Hell they probably transcribe your voice chats and store that forever too.
Friendly reminder that if you record a conversation that is not admissible in court you can listen to the recording later, transcribe specific notes about the encounter, and those notes are admissible even when the recording is not. Helps if you date and sign it too.

He said he won't be streaming on YT because of dmca issues, but probably X soon since he's making a proposal to Elon this week or something.

A lot of streamers who stream as a career already multistream to Twitch and Youtube. Some do X because you can basically start it up and not doing anything because there's 0 interaction and no one chats there and most do Kick initially until they realize it's all porn emotes and gamer words and it makes less than Twitch or Youtube so they just stop doing it.

Twitch is starting to beta test streams above 1080p, although from what i understand it requires the streamer to encode from their own hardware while watchers require hardware acceleration turned on and it only works for select browsers atm. Trying to do 1440p to both twitch + YT is demanding and adding local recordings and other audiovisual stuff on top becomes intensive.

Simply trying to watch a beta stream will break extensions like Alternative Twitch Player even on a browser that can only do 1080p. So there is a lot of hoops to jump through in the attempt to reach YT quality and it comes with drawbacks.

youtube is so fucking terrible with how it handles copyright claims it probably isn't worth the effort
