I can't even be bothered to use Twitch to 'watch a stream to get a free item in my Current_MMO_09'. I don't know how they are still in business.

The only person I still watched on Twitch has just gone too far left for me. Not really unusual for an Austin streamer, but it doesn't help that the GTARP scene is filled with trannies and some of the most mentally unstable people I have ever encountered. Even some of his whales have left because his chat really pushes that leftist shit more and more. Not only that but he has been having Morgpie on lately and I can't stand her, even more insufferable when she isn't at least naked.

Turns out they found another guy who redeems his mmo rewards so they're all good. But seriously though, you do understand that you not using Twitch doesn't really mean fuckall for wether or not it's still running. They are I assume not growing, but there's still like eyeballing it over a million people watching streams right now, of which 5 or 10% are served ads(presumably). A lot of these bigger channels have hundreds of people subscribed and paying every months. I don't know if it's profitable at all but they're still making a bunch of money.

I don't really watch twitch and when I do it's just to check out new games and I just click random medium/low viewer count stream cause top streamers are usually insufferable to watch or are spamming ads(and my adblocker doesn't block them much anymore, although it comes and goes) but it's not really that surprising it's still running. Even Kick with like a 10th of the viewers still runs fine.

Kick has that gambling backing. There is no way they are making as much money as they are paying out on some of their deals. Although I heard those big deals are gone now.

I only experience Twitch through his YouTube channel. I used to log in monthly and give my free monthly sub to Totalbiscuit because I enjoyed his content and the co-optional podcast, but that stopped when he passed. I don’t recognize most of the top streamers anymore.

Jessecox and Dodger from co-optional do a podcast called Geekenders. Sort of co-optional adjacent.

Yeah I don't watch twitch or streaming. I will watch some Asmon YouTube videos and rarely others if they look interesting. I do always watch ItsaGundam videos because he's hilarious.

What's crazy is that streamers are one of the main ways people get video game information now. It's why despite Noodle being a tard they are part of the culture now.

Asmon calling out how poorly Twitch is run.

Lulz, according to Azmon here, the personal bodyguard of that chick that got molested by the simp at Twitchcon got banned from Twitchcon for protecting his client from the simp molester.

No, her usual security guy got banned during a previous Twitchcon for restraining a stalker until police arrived. Not even Twitch is stupid enough to ban the guy who stopped her from being actively assaulted, probably.

Theyre pretty much done. No one is under longterm contract anymore. One-off deals for a set amount of gambling streams is more common now. Around 300k-350k for bigger streamers with the engagement.

Events are being cut down, along with a goal of removing 100 streamers from the KPP program a month over the next year.

heard couple people talking about twitch's decline saying could be lower than pre-covid
chatgpt numbers
2019 Hours watched ~11 billion hours
2020 Hours watched ~18.6 billion hours
2021 Hours watched ~22.8 billion hours
2022 Hours watched ~22.4 billion hours
2023 Hours watched ~21.4 billion hours
2024 Hours watched ~20.8 billion hours

Avg. Concurrent Viewers
2019 ~1.26 million
2020 ~2.12 million
2021 ~2.78 million
2022 ~2.58 million
2023 ~2.41 million
2024 ~2.37 million

chatgpt estimates for this year were corrupted by bad data, grok thinks it could be 18.65 billion hours watched and 2.13 million concurrent. with the anti-bot measures happening so late in the year, hard to really predict

I wonder if there is a correlation between a drop in viewers and Twitch's change in ad policy (pre-rolls, mandatory minutes per hour to avoid preroll ads)
