I enjoyed all 3 of the games for what they were, but no real desire to see a movie nor did I expect to see anything made. Oh well, I'll stream it one night with nothing better to do in a couple of years when I remember it came out or kroenen kroenen bumps this thread. That's how I watch 90% of things these days.

I kind of like the premise. What do you do when everyday you are being hunted and killed, only to have to repeat the day?

It's fine but I'm not sure I understand why you would go with a death loop premise to then fail to do anything all that interesting with it. Death loops are not novel. There have been quite a few films to tackle the idea. This has maybe half of one interesting idea within that framework.

Easy watch, supremely forgettable.

Yeah, pretty forgettable. It really isn't the worst movie but just doesn't get really good.

I was expecting the credits scene to tie into the other Supermassive games and the Dark Pictures anthology but then looked it up and Until Dawn wasn't technically a part of that series. Although there was a "successor" called The Quarry. Never played that one, maybe that's what the pictures were of.

The Quarry was fun in the last half. Assuming you can get past the first slow as fuck 5 hours of the game.

Game aside I think it is at least worth the watch, just go into it with correct expectations and don't expect to be blown away.

Related to the game (and from what I can remember, haven't played it since the initial release), it isn't really close. Totally new characters, new themes, you still have Peter Stormare playing the same character. But that is about it.

The game wasn't really "time loop" as much as it was based on you, the player, making different decisions and see how that played out in the story. I don't remember any of the characters in the game concious of or experiencing a loop. You just played the game over trying to influence the outcome.
