Yeah, but didn’t that lead to Broccoli calling them all fucking idiots and the eventual firing of the Amazon Creative studio head? Not saying these are great choices, but I would lay the blame at the feet of Broccoli and Wilson.

oops that was supposed to be a quote to jayrebb jayrebb

What, me worry?
I remember getting the monthly issue every time we went to the grocery store as a kid. I don't know how many years I had collected it, this was back when there was always an aisle with a giant magazine rack in the grocery store or eckard's. I miss the '80s.

In before "Amazon isn't making it for you, they are making it for the younger generation" ..that would rather stream or pirate it rather than pay to see in theaters. We'll see if the first one costs $300M before marketing.

Do people really think Pierce Brosnan was physically imposing? Or Roger Moore?

Yeah, he's too soy for the violent brute category, but it just makes the babyfaced killer role more believable.

At some point you have to start admitting that for pop culture,

The Age of Gen X is Over.
The Time of the Millenial has Come.

What the fuck are you talking about them being physically imposing? James Bond is supposed to be handsome and debonair, not some special ops muscle bound guy.

And that kid is neither of those.

there was a 4th unknown actor in the running until the end, rumor was basically a young newbie who didn't have any previous roles. If they wanted to piss off the usual crowd they woulda cast a bollywood indian UK guy with a british accent, there are millions of them.

so they still went white, and the bond girl is margaret qualley who is hot and a hollywood nepo baby. i just am puzzled by the callum choice, he just feels kinda bland and boring. maybe chicks really dig his look or something, i don't get it

like i watched 2-3 mins of this and just turned it off, he seems to have no personality. you never know, i remember all the ruckus around health ledger when he was cast as joker and "that faggot from brokeback? lol DC cooked" kinda stuff but he is maybe the best comic book movie villain.

this guy would maybe work if they move Bond back into the 60s, but I doubt they'll do that

The Broccoli incident was mainly over Amazon's top executive calling Bond "content" and difficulty getting past the low level C-suite offices for communication. The oldschool studio way was rights holders talking directly to the top shotcaller, and Amazon had a new system that didn't reflect the way Hollywood used to work. She hated a lot of the villain suggestions also from what I heard, and refused to do any villain that had already been covered by a previous Bond movie. One was an Elon Musk type figure as a popular suggestion. Her stance was she already did Elon Musk 30-40 years ago.

Saying Bond isn't a good guy and is bad for marketing was during Amazon's attempt at a Bond TV contest while trying to explain low viewership. I don't believe Broccoli was present for it as it was just low level execs.
