Save money on CGI, or more money for the actors since their face is showing?
That line just feels stupid. "Human avatars only!"

Every time I see this thread I think it's going to be a TV series based on the Vision Quest movie with Matthew Modine, and every time I'm disappointed that it's just more marvel slop.

Seems like Dr.Retarded Dr.Retarded had the same thought too. Apparently I only ever open the thread, see what it is, and immediately close it.

Even if they didn't have the consultant just making up Native American shit and making him look like a goof, Chakotay was such a useless character lol

Don't like the direction theyre going with this. Stories where nothing is real and its all inside someones head generally end up retarded and pointless. Hard to think of any exceptions to that rule. Not even the one this forum inexplicably loved.

Entertaining enough to watch once. Dumb in ways that retroactively make the initially interesting parts uninteresting. Not worth a second viewing.

This isnt the worst example of an "its all in your head" artsy fartsy movie or show that this forum inexplicably loved. But also certainly not a rebuttal of the argument that "its all in your head" makes for a dumb story.

Still always going to see him as the original Dr. Daniel Jackson unlocking the stargates. Same with Paul Bettany and his Knight's Tale role.

I remember so much controversy when Sex, Lies, and Videotape came out that it is hard to replace that roll in my head (plus, that hair!), but Daniel Jackson is a close second. Then again, Michael Shanks played Jackson for so long he's almost the default in my head by this point.

He was also in Less Than Zero, since The Shards is such an immense hit TV show right now. But that's a little more obscure.

In my head essentially there's "Young James Spader" and "Old James Spader" as two essentially completely different people.

Young is the OG Daniel Jackson, and from all those brat pack movies.
Old is Raymond Reddington and the voice of Ultron. I still think of Ultron as "Mecha Reddington" essentially.

Love both, but in my head they're completely different dudes.
