Karl Urban has flat out said Garland was the actual main director on Dredd as well - Karl Urban Claims Alex Garland Actually Directed ‘Dredd,’ Not Pete Travis - though this sounds more like main editor.

I thought it was strange to see this movie pop up in the local art house theatre. After seeing it, I understand why.
First off, it is phenomenal... but it is a "small, creator's vision" type of experience. It is basically a documentary. No fluff, no Hollywood bullshit, no character arc's, or scenes back home to try and humanize it all. It is an evening and a day in the life of a Iraq war platoon. It raw, its brutal, and it is as real as "warfare" gets.
It is worth seeing and supporting if you can.

Not really. If you like BHD, you will probably like this, but it is a very different experience. Zoomers will probably be bored by Warfare.
Warfare feels like a live-action Documentary vs a Hollywood production. There is no music, no talks about "family back home", no downtime to humanize who these guys are... its just a night and a day in a platoon where shit goes bad.

yes and no. They're both gritty as fuck but like others have said they strip out anything Hollywood from Warfare. A quick example is BHD has some great quoetables:
-This is my safety sir
-Well shoot back
-I hate being dependable
-Skinnies can't shoot for shit
Not much of that in warfare.
