Arbites dlc is real soon. They have been teasing it frequently on reddit.

But, I'm posting for something else.
Warhammer skulls event in 3 days.

There have been rumors. and they are teasing.

Rumors say, Owlcat is going to announce a Dark Heresy game.

So yeah it's literally just the Dark Heresy TTRPG in CRPG format. You control an Inquisitorial retinue, it's set in the Calixis sector and it looks like the Tyrant Star will be the central bogeyman of the game. I'm guessing the main character will be an interrogator who gets promoted to full inquisitor around halfway through the game. Will likely be the exact same adapted d100 game system that they used in Rogue Trader, hopefully they won't pull another Cassia this time around.

you should go ahead and just give it its own thread.

seems like a solid idea. clearly its just using the same engine/assets as Rogue trader.
I've noted how Wrath of the Righteous almost seems like a platform, which is never fully utilized. enemies, locations, classes, etc. WotR 2, justing all the assets, and just a new storyline should have been easy to make, and sold well.

They also announced S2 dlc.

Two new journeys await in the grim darkness of the Koronus Expanse. Claim Apperance pack DLC and both expansions for Rogue Trader at a reduced bundle price. Each story provides around 15 hours of content.

DLC III - The Infinite Museion

Delve into a secret vault curated by Trazyn the Infinite himself. Discover Trazyn’s obsession with the Von Valancius dynasty, and choose whether to disrupt or fulfill his plans. Explore a glimpse of his fabled collection, claim priceless relics, and face off against guardians that defy understanding. A new companion joins your retinue with a distinct combat style that reshapes battlefield tactics. This expansion brings a new questline, a new mechanic — implants — that can be used strategically in battle, and a deeper dive into Necron conflicts.

DLC IV - Processional of the Damned

Venture into the Processional — a massive, otherworldly graveyard of ships lost to the void. What begins as a search for riches turns into a descent into the unknown. Navigate shifting corridors, avoid ancient traps, and uncover strange truths that defy logic. A new companion joins your crew — someone shaped by this impossible place. This expansion introduces new story, a mysterious new region, unique enemies and some fresh gameplay mechanics.

Appearance pack DLC

Abelard, bring me the mirror! Travel across the Koronus Expanse with fresh flair. This appearance pack for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader includes seven distinctive hairstyles — four for male and three for female characters — as well as four custom augmetic implants for personalizing your Lord Captain. Whether you're forging alliances or bringing down your enemies, let your appearance embody power.

Lex Imperialis is out. So now is probably a goodtime to buy if you haven't. and a reminder. void shadows is built right into the base campaign tightly. highly recommended to get it before a first playthough.

mort says its good, but not quite as in depth as void shadows. so, probably not quite as "required". although I wonder if the question of paying your taxes properly majorly effects Iconoclast endings.

Base game is on sale at GoG 50% off.
Void shadows is 25% off.
Lex imperialis is full price. 17.99.
none are on sale on steam atm it seems?

1.4 update along with dlc.

I don't see it as a link via the Roguetrader store page, but if I do an Owlcat games search I can find it.

Which yes, at 14.99 is LESS then either dlc alone.

I find it hard to justify a new playthrough even for both dlc.
But I did start up a new run, to see whats what a bit.

Aribitor is an ORIGIN. like, noble, sanct pysker, commisar, etc.
like, Sanct pysker its a bit more in depth, and comes with 3 sub-classes, each with their own skills/talents associated.

Void shadows added the t1 archetype, bladedancer. which is a job anyone can start with. sanct pysker-bladedancer, aribitor-blade dancer, etc.

Void shadows added the t2 archetype executoner. which is a job for bladedancers, warrier, operatives, and... uh. I forget.
Lex added the t2 archetype Overseer. which is a job for Officers,, operatives, arbities, and pyskers.

I have not gotten to the point of unlocking Overseer. but that is a really cool class on paper for sure.
its a pet class. 4 pet options which have dependencies. arbites can get the cyber mastiff. psykers can get the cyber raven. officers and operatives can get the cyber skull swarm.
officers and operative can get the cyber eagle.

99% my previous run of sancted pysker officer would have gone Overseer instead of Arch militant. AM provided her a huge single target damage boost yes, and probably did benefit for the 1 turn kill more then overseer would have.. but this pet stuff is strong too.

for example, much of the purpose of the pets is, when you cast single target buffs on them, the buffs passed unto allies. raven does it for pysker powers, skulls do it for non-pysker powers. extra turn powers also, are limited to doubled, instead of EVERY.
officers, "bring it down", which gives the ally an extra turn? two allies get it.

Finished the game shortly after release.

Started a new run now and .. damn, they added a lot of new stuff. Voice acting is good and new classes are awesome.

I feel like there were visual upgrades as well? Seems to look way better than I remember.

I was watching a video on this, and I realized I was "wrong" on the topic of replay in this.

there is actually significant alternative paths here. the problem is how its done.

in Wrath of the Righteous, the alternative pathing is 95% based around mythic paths. Choices do effect it a bit. but the actual content shifts are related to mythic paths mostly.
Here, the alt paths are not really tied to dogmatic/iconoclast much. yes heretic is.
its mostly your actual choices in any given situation.

this sounds good, as its reactive, and natural! the problem is... taking those alt paths almost requires metagaming. as likely your first play will be you choosing things you feel are correct.
other replays will then generally be you picking things you think are wrong, but want to see how it plays out. this is not very satisfying.
interestingly, alignment in pathfinder/dnd itself actually lends itself to this better as well. as it lets you roleplay as that character. while here its all morally grey, without alignments.

Fairly far into a new run of this with the DLC.

The Void Shadows was well done in every area except balance on some of the fights. The hall trash encounters that are part of it have enemies with over 600hp that have lots of movement and can reliably gank softer characters in a single turn. The boss encounters take that a step further by starting some of them off with an AE stun in an ambush, ramping up the HP even more on endless respawns, and then making your psykers lose health every time they use a power. This is shit you run into potentially prior to chapter 2 and once it starts, you cannot back out of it. The final boss fight of that DLC is the hardest battle in the whole game and if it ganks any of your psykers early, you might as well restart the fight. Oh and the boss has mind control too, just for added fun. The whole expansion is a lot like that. The companion you get (and her class) is dominating in the early game and becomes more of a run in and gank character towards the end game stretch, thanks to a ton of dodge synergy.

The new DLC, you do not get the quest or new companion for a while. But you do get the T2 archtype early enough to impact things and it is very good in most cases, especially on a psyker (mostly useless on the Navigator). The eagle one is useless, but the Mastiff (requires Arbites origin) is pretty decent and the servo skull swarm is great for a skill monkey leader character. There are a lot of interesting mechanics for physical shield gear that do not require the new archtype. Fairly interesting, but the pet class is a no brainer choice in most cases.
