Hatorade Hatorade sent me a DM on Steam asking me to vote for some team at ESL Benelux which I guess is a defunct CS event. Anyway I clicked on something and unthinkingly put my Steam credentials in and when I was going to get the authentication code from my email it said the request was from the Russian Federation. Already changed my password and I think 2FA would have protected the account anyway but be aware.

I got no response from him yet from a DM on here and the Steam account stopped responding when I told him to respond to my DM on the forum if he wasn't hacked.

Just came to post this. He requested to click a link to an ESL championship so i asked him to send me a link in Discord. Naturally link didn't come and the tourney in question doesnt exist for 2025 hasn't existed for a few years now.

Someone else went through something similar a few years back so it had me on my toes right off the bat.

huh...no idea. Apologies, I changed passwords and signed out of all devices. I guess 2factor auth don't mean shit. I still have my account etc. Maybe the friends chat is easily broken?

When I logged into path of exile 2 this morning i saw in global chat someone arguing with himself "how are you talking to me with my own account! lol" and I thought it was just someone being goofy for attention in global chat. but with this thread, maybe someone was able to spoof someone's chat. so it seems to be a thing? dunno more than that, thought Id throw it out there that I saw that.

Kinda what I wondered with Hatorade saying he had 2FA etc.. Lot of different chat steam apps (think its separate for mobile?) + browser etc.. Maybe no access to games/account info but can send msgs.

It's probably the same deal where somebody sent me a goddamn DM. And it was something crazy from a security standpoint. I like I posted something about it to the mods in their stupid thread.

I think the poo-people, or maybe the chingchangs are attacking us. Guard yourself my fellow fotum members, I believe we're under assault.

I also never got a response to the complaint about that particular private message which was just bizarre.
