Just got home from seeing this

Best film of the year and I don’t see anything topping it. Shit was fucking wild and the ending was top notch. Nothing bad to say at all

Watch this movie. No seriously watch this. Don’t pirate it go see it in the theater.

Well alright, gonna hold you to this, but that's good news. Don't spoil anything. It's not often I get excited about a movie anymore but this is definitely one of them.

I haven't seen it myself yet, but I smell a Bell Witch in this movie, or maybe I'm just traumatized from playing Bloodborne way too much.

is the horror "creepy but tolerable" ala The Witch, Heretic, Midsommar, etc or just full on panic inducing gross out stuff like Saw, Terrifier, etc?

just trying to calibrate if wife would enjoy it or not, she liked Substance and Nosferatu but did NOT like Abigail or Final Destination (gore). If kids are hurt / always in danger in this movie I don't think she'd like it at all.

Former, this is something I can recommend to anyone (note it is R rated dont bring the little ones, teens? what do teens even watch? fuck if i know).

Maybe like a bit at the end but nothing like those

I didnt love Barbarian. That was iddling at best to me honestly. Way over rated. that said, have good hopes for this one.

Word of mouth all seems good. (but wordof mouth on Barbarian was also stellar.)

guess for the plot is, kind of a "drag me to hell" scenario. schoolteacher mildly inconvenienced a witch, who is now attacking the teacher, by destroying everything around her to hurt her, and make the town hate her.

if you aren't a huge horror fan is this worth a watch in imax/etc? My home theater setup is better than normal screens at this point (77 G5, 7.2 sound system) so I only go if its really, really worth a watch in IMAX like comic book movies or Nolan/DenisV movies

Great movie but wasn’t enamored with the ending. Still, great flick and I detest horror movies. Need to watch barbarians now.

Barbarians was a surprisingly good film, and if you don't know anything about it, should make for a pretty fun first viewing. That's why I'm excited about this one because the guy's first film was pretty decent and this one sounds like he's going to knock it out of the park.

Plus anything to support the dudes from The whitest kids you know.

rlm and another reviewer did mention the trailer doesn't give away anything. its like the first 5minutes.

also, notes the movie is an ensemble. kind of like how barbarian jumps from pov character a few times. this does it even more.

Magnolia the horror film.

Also their complaints that it was too dark was their projection. I didn’t have their issue but the dude that does the projectors at my theater is a huge movie buff and a friend of mine. he takes pride that they are done right.

Yeah I was watching the rlm video, and was one thing that I picked up on which I think we on the forum had actually mentioned when the original trailers came out. Nice to see that if you craft a good trailer that doesn't reveal too much, people get interested, and you end up putting asses in the seats at the theater.
