These discussions always have to eventually go full retard and boil down to black and white positions. Of course exercise burns calories and even if you're just burning a couple hundred calories doing 20 minutes on the exercise bike in the morning, that's 200 less calories that you have to cut from your diet. "Significant" technically just means measurable and in this case it definitely is. If you're running a 200 calorie per day deficit you're probably going to lose 10-15 lbs over the course of a year, so that's significant.

We could just say "Both exercise and diet are important to health but for most people trying to lose weight, changing diet is the most potent way to lose weight quickly" but then we couldn't just go back and forth calling each other retards all day.

The main point of lifting is to not look like a melted ice cream cone after losing weight. Even a slight bit of muscle can make a huge difference in the way you look even at the same weight and body fat.

For me the only exercice that does decrease my weight is walking because it doesn’t increase hunger. Need to be creative to include enough in your modern routine to make a difference.

Also, very importantly, don't be "victim weight" as our circle calls it. Look like a man, not Ellen Page.

I'm not "THIS" bad - but I just dont think you can get rid of the extra skin without a tummy tuck or w/e. Ignore the monkey at the end trying to collect internet likes.

Took nearly 15 minutes checking the nutrition facts and ingredient lists on ALL the bread at the grocery store in order to find something that isn't loaded with sugar and bullshit chemicals.

Struggled with that, wife likes various sara lee esp the hawaiin loaf. Tried to get her on the whole wheat basic bitch walmart, nearly half the calories, but admittedly not a tasty bread. Wouldn't mind finding something better but also kinda cheap and dont want to spend $5 for a loaf that lasts a week tops.

I'll post some pics of what I did find. Admittedly, it was a compromise because the options were shit, despite the store having nearly 40 options.

Bake your own.

1.5 cups water
2 tbsp butter
4 cups flour
1/4 cup honey
1.5 tsp salt
1 tsp yeast
some shit called vital wheat gluten - makes the bread less crumbly.

Come back in 4 hours, and your house smells like fresh bread.

Seriously - with how good bread machines are these days, there's exactly zero reason not to bake your own.

Baking your own is definitely the answer if you must have bread, but also you can also just eliminate the bread from just about any food and just eat what is supposed to be between/around the bread instead, and it'd probably be better for you all things considered.

Baking your own is pretty much the only option, especially if you wanna go bromate free. If you're worried about shelf life, portion and freeze it. Bread is fine as long as its thawed only once. Its only if you refreeze that it becomes an issue.

If I get time I’d love to bake some bread. I did decades ago in high school and college and it was amazing.

Completely agree. But, while I’m temporarily on some meds it’s easier for me to eat toast than most other things. Normally I very rarely have bread because it’s mostly crap.

I'm not criticizing, I eat bread if it's around at restaurants or at people's houses if they have bread in a meal, I'll have some, it's fine. I just don't shop for it for the reasons you've already identified. If you need to eat it for a bit I'm sure it'll be ok.

I don't eat a ton of it, but when I have eggs, I really want toast. The nice thing about this bread is it's 152 calories a slice. doesn't have any chemicals, and fills me up for a good long while. It is some hearty bread.

Also, we occasionally do BLT's, which is just much more satisfying than eating a pile of bacon and lettuce and tomatos and shit.

I bag it and toss it in the fridge. It's good for the 3 weeks to a month or so that it takes me to go thru a loaf.

The beautiful thing about the bread maker is that it doesn't take any time. At least none of your time. I'm absolutely positive mine has paid for itself. It's 3 minutes to toss ingredients in, and then you walk away or go to the store or whatever. When you come back, bread is there. It's unreal. can't believe it took me so long to do it.

Store bought bread is fucking poison, and the sooner you get it out of your diet, the better.

I'm sure I'll get called names but my eggs go-to is I scramble 5 eggs, make a protein shake, and put 4-6 oz of grilled chicken on my plate with a touch of sauce on it (bbq sauce, teriyaki sauce, fish sauce, depending on what I'm in the mood for.

Ends up being like 140g of protein for 1000 calories or so. Suuuuper nutritious and filling.

Yea I basically do not eat sandwiches at all. Chicken/rice/vegetables.

Does it reheat okay? Most bread once refrigerated gets weird.

I can't eat that much in the morning or I end up sick to my stomach all day. 3 eggs and a piece of this toast on the weekend keeps me good until 3 or 4pm.

It makes absolutely incredible toast. It doesn't change color - or at least, I don't cook it long enough to do, but it's unbelievable. And when I make BLT's, I toast the bread anyway, so i pretty much never have any issues with it.

Regardless, that's just my personal recipe. You can make whatever the fuck you want out of it by varying the amount and type of yeast and wheat gluten. I just settled on this, because I like hearty, flavorful bread, and that's what I get out of it for the low low cost of taking 3 minutes out of my day once a month.

I don't eat breakfast, I only eat lunch and dinner. So my two meals are usually 800-1200 calories, and then if I burned a lot that day I'll eat more to compensate. I don't have any trouble eating big meals and then nothing in between - but you just gotta find what works for you. I have a pretty iron stomach but my wife's stomach hurts when she eats certain things or eats too much or eats too little or the sun is shining on her or whatever. She adjusts her eating to her body, obviously you gotta do you as well.

The bread maker is a great deal and you're doing your health a favor by making it rather than buying. My mom had one too and the bread it made was delicious especially when fresh.
