Both games would be much better if they gave you a full build planner outside of the game. let you then save loadouts, which would then show you what to pick when playing.
(but also still let you chnge your mind in game.)

WoTR had two kind of/sort of options for it. one, when making characters in wotr you could look at the class sheets, and make a plan, in your head. you could see most of the options.
its not perfect, you can't open up spell lists. iirc, you can open up the feat list at least.
with no context, it admittedly is not perfect.
the inevitable excess dlc outright let you build and start with a level 20 pc. thus would let you effectively test/preplan builds.

RT doesn't let you really preplan at all. iirc you can't even see what the skills/talents of the 2nd and 3rd classes even are? psyker talents are hidden till you take that school as well.

Giving players the ability to build and playtest a character before committing would be good.
An interesting idea is they weren't really originally intended for that. you were in the past supposed to pick on the fly more. But, this is arguably another of the tabletop roleplay versus crgps tactical choices. As crpgs are a bit more puzzle/tactical designed. as without a live DM to balance with the players, or play off them, the games are more hardset. more encounters/day, etc.

Wrath can be much. the buffing. my azatawitch was pretty crazy. even with extended. pretty frequent buffing. in fact it was so bad. When dance of masks was added, I went back. tried loading up the old save for dance of masks, and inevitable excess. my hotbar was SO full of spells and skills that I did not remember which was which or the good ones, I... gave up and didnt even play them.

the most annoying thing about WotR to me was that fucking mass death ward doesnt exist in Pathfinder even though it existed in 3.5 when they created Pathfinder.
