What are you listening to at the moment?

This band is just... really interesting. So in the 90's some dudes were traveling around SEA and went to Cambodia. Discovering that Cambodia independently developed a variant of Psychodelic/Surf Rock/Bollywood combo back in the 60's that nobody ever heard about in the West. Heavily influenced by the American sounds of the Vietnam War and what have you. When Cambodia went dark due to Communist ethnic cleansing Cambodian Rock also went dark along with it.

However in the 80s and 90s jukeboxes and bars would play this stuff all the time. Leading these musicians to take it to LA and create a Cambodian Rock band to cover this and bring it to the Western audiences. Gaining a cult following. Kicker here is that they dug up a bonafide Cambodian pop singer to front their band... and they even have her sing in Khmer(Cambodian language) which has a very interesting sound quality to it.

Pretty cool and bizarre.
