Was listening to Dire Straights Greatest Hits on Vinyl.

This song is about the growth and destruction of Detroit.

This is of course about the Falklands War and the bond of brotherhood between soldiers.

One of the most sublime piano concertos ever. Start around 25 minutes for the spicy ending.

Haven't heard this concerto since I was a teenager (lots of classical music at home growing up), but still recognized it just 3 notes in. Thank you for taking me back!
What an extraordinary performance.

Listened to some more from the same concert, wow, and that lead me to this one. Their live music in particular is just magical.

There's two live songs on their greatest hits vinyl and both sound amazing. I usually don't like live music as much because it often sounds like shit but both were phenomenal.

While I'm on classical type music check this one out. This is the definitive recording (Dawn Upshaw is incredible). This is a good piece to listen to on a rainy day, but you have to have your volume up. It starts very small, becomes very big, and then small again. The crescendo and decrescendo gives, to me, an incredible feeling. The original score (this recording is that) includes 12 cellos and 8 double basses. It's a very bass-rich sound and I love it.
