I’m about 30% through RDR1. Man. This thing is a clear classic. I dunno. But this feels like it would still be a highly rated game today. My wife has been watching and enjoying it. I want to play Spiderman 2 and Final Fantasy X and XII before I take on RDR2, but my expectations are getting high for that one.

I'm playing FFXII now and plan to play FFX next.

So due to vacation and a slight detour into a lot of super smash bros, mario kart 8, and Marvel Cosmic whatever beat em up, I just finished red dead redemption 1. Hadn’t played it or 2

holy hell. I would argue that was top 5 game stories of all time. Easily. Shocked this hasn’t been picked up as a limited run series.

Up next is Spiderman 2 for some light hearted affair, FFX then probably RDR2.

Recently found and played (tried to at least) The Ripper. But was bugged at a spot, so watched the rest on youtube.

One of my favs from the 90s.

Timestamped at the end showing cast. Had forgotten that both young Gimli and Paul Giamatti was in it.

Hmm is that abandonware? Never heard of it.

It's been on the GOG wishlist for a while, but don't think it's on any platforms.

Same with Black Dahlia (Dennis Hopper)

Think both games are on abandonware sites.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey for the nintendo DS. Another game that I never ended up beating. Insane amount of dialogue for such a silly acid trip tier story ( at one point your toilet in the demon dimension gets "haunted" by the toilet god in the demon dimension which is a giant foot made from turds) And some of the battles are completely fucked. But the art style and dungeon design is pretty awesome. Plus its a fantastic mobile version of the same concept as nocturne.

Good game, sometimes difficult to the point where it does make you want to quit because its just obtuse difficulty. Thank god for save states

My comments earlier about FMV games made me install Gabriel Knight 2. Had the trilogy for years during a sale of some sort in steam, by installed them now. 1 and 2 work great straight from steam, but apparently 3 requires a patch/mod or two to run.

Really enjoying them (done 2, on 1 now). Nr 1 is a bit more moonlogicky than 2 which is fairly straight forwards in puzzles. And easier to see where to click than a pixel game from the early 90.

But on a full point and click binge now. Have under a killing moon installed with a movement patch ready to go too. Crimson Desert is on pause until the nostalgia crave is over.

Man, I've always wanted to get into the RDRs, because as a kid I was obsessed with "cowboys and indians" and pretty much anything pertaining to that era of time. The weapons, the outfits, the horses, all that. Always wanted a video game in that kind of setting where you could go around and do cowboy things, fire a revolver at banditos, all that stuff. Problem is RDR1 was stuck on the PS3 for a long time, and PS3 graphics have been increasingly rough since 2015 or so (going to 55 and then 65 inch TVs didn't help). They finally remastered RDR1 but for whatever reason I can't seem to get into it. The gameplay just feels weird. I got to try RDR2 a while back and liked it a lot more, but I have this OCD insistence on playing the first one first (probably because I know it's good) and the first has been a roadblock to get into. Really not sure what my issue with it is.

What I'm playing: Crimson Desert, Nioh 2, CRPG TBD (got a vacation coming up)
