Would you care?

I mean seriously... the people in charge over there are quite literally the worst of the worst in the industry. The only reason they exist is because they are in charge of a game that has massive nostalgia and is one of the founders the industry. They didn't design the game. They didn't develop the game. They were not there to help it become the juggernaut it was before WoW came around.

These are literally just bad employees sucking the life out of something they know jack shit about.

Their expansions suck.
Their TLP servers suck.
Their customer service sucks.

There literally is nothing about DPG that doesn't suck.

If they never had Everquest, DPG would not exist. Period.

After watching a recent video, I came to the same exact conclusion that the person in the video had come to... Fuck DPG and EverQuest.!

Was it a great game back in the day? Yes. It was pivotal to the early development of the MMO industry.

Is it still a great game today? No. It's a shell of what it used to be, and it is 100% because of DPG.

As long as DPG is the developer for EverQuest, I am done with the game. I already cancelled my yearly memberships earlier this year. But, I had thought about coming back to do some raiding.

But... Now after seeing what they are doing with the current lawsuit, I'm done. It's that simple. I'm done. DPG has gotten the very last penny out of me they will ever get. Fuck em.

And, no. I did not play on the emu server that is getting sued. I haven't played on an emu server in many years. I just didn't find the emu servers to be that fun compared to the real thing.

That all being said, will I miss EverQuest? No. I say that because what EverQuest is today is not what I enjoyed. I have my memories of the good times, and that is what matters. What they have now is not worth missing.

Peace out Jchan and company. Go waste more of your pathetic time making a new pride familiar. It's the ONLY thing your company seems to be able to do correctly (that red panda this year was super cute). And...thanks for fucking EverQuest in to the ground. You made it so much easier to say goodbye and fuck you.

**Edit to say... this is my 1337th post on these forums. If that isn't poetic I don't know what is lol. 1337 Post**

Shrug and move on. Plenty of other things to play and do. The days of going 100% hardcore into 1 game for years are over.

Its fun to watch people have a meltdown over them, like the OP.

I don't know. I'm just saying that I personally think that DPG is one of the shittiest game development companies on the planet. I personally wouldn't touch a single game they ever were in charge of making. If that accounts to a meltdown, then I guess I am guilty.

EQ isn't their biggest game. Apparently DCUO is. And they recently acquired DDO and LOTRO, so if EQ goes bye bye they are still going strong for years to come.

There are far far worse companies. That have done far more then than minimum effort to keep a game going to leech off nostalgia.

  • DBG (Daybreak Games) is the publisher of EQ, DCUO, DDO, and LOTRO. They are located in San Diego, California.
  • DPG (Dark Paw Games) is the developer of Everquest and Everquest 2. They are located in San Diego, California.
  • SSG (Standing Stone Games) is the developer of DDO and LOTRO. They are located in Boston, Massachusetts.
  • Dimensional Ink is the developer of DCUO. They are located in Austin, Texas.
These are separate companies with the only two that are actually together being DBG and DPG.
