Absolutely sucks to have to see it put in practice though.

Obviously no normal insurance, but any kind of track/hagerty something that would cover some of it? Don't you run your best cars as well, or was that reserved for stuff like the Corvette.

Same company as Hyundai, well, not quite, but Hyundai has a controlling share in Kia, and I've had a Hyundai Sonata for almost 14 years. It has 200K miles on it and it's totally reliable on long or short trips. No major work ever done to the Sonata. If Kia is building with the same quality I'm considering it. They're good looking cars, and they seem to do well in the snow. Also have good safety ratings. The only issue is they don't come in manual transmission. I want that.

KN seems to be the slightly younger less put together sibling. This leads to some more interesting things like bolder styling and interiors, but you seem to lose some of the sophistication Hyundai inherits from their Genesis lines. The Stinger and the K5 were also striking when they came out. Seems a perfectly serviceable econobox, but then there's so few in the small sedan category there's not much option.Anyone have thoughts on the Kia K4?

Only one carrier offers track insurance and it’s about $1,000 premium per $110,000 in stated value for a weekend. If you say your car is worth $220,000 it’s $2,000 for the insurance. 10% of the stated value is the deductible every time.
took the gt3 this weekend and ran slow. Two minute 35-40 per lap. Vette was sold as it ultimately would have been too much to take a perfect car and cut it up to make it a good enough track car. Was a fun street car though.
this weekend our group had: three GT3s. Two gt2 RS. McLaren 720s, and the 765LT that was lost.

The thing that would worry me about Kia is literally the Kia nameplate. I'd always be worried about some dipshit Kia boy trying to break into my vehicle to go on a joyride. Neighbor had this happen to her - she parked overnight in the city, woke up to her window busted out on her Kia. It wasn't even the right vintage of vehicle that had the immobilizer issue, but they still tried.

Yeah, even if I had that* kind of money, I'd have a hard time wanting to do anything to risk that kind of money uncovered, so driving crazy on the streets sadly is kinda a better financial choice seems like.

So Jag dealer replaced sway bar mounts, and the long wait to even bring it in was waiting for the struts to come in. Then as Id said they decided they think it's strut towers which is what facebook said. Sent in for courtesy coverage, but denied. Kinda lame since it was recently out of full coverage warranty, under CPO, low miles. But they didnt like that im 3rd or 4th owner I forget.... ooookkk.
Well come to find out when they decided wanted to do strut towers, they found out that the struts actually whern't covered under CPO. And hadn't put them on yet. So now while I'm on the hook for the strut towers at $800, I'm a little annoyed that I had to wait a month to bring the car in, for struts they didnt do. Though out of pocket those were like $1600. But my concern is still if theyll even fix it with the strut mounts. Not the most confidence but I think the nearest independant euro mechanic of any good standing is out in OKC.

I feel this. I drive around with my hand on the brights lever at night because I get people flashing me so much I have to flash them back for them to realize I don’t have my brights on.

If you're getting flashed a lot, check the aim of your lights, they might be too high. The LED headlights are bright but if they are correctly aimed they shouldn't be blinding people.
If you already did this then sorry, ignore... but most of the ones that really annoy me are mis-aimed.

I've done the aiming procedure with measurements but you can just use a dark road too, if you see the cutoff on the road about 40-50 yards ahead of the car it should be fine. Throw a towel over the other headlight to make it easier to see.
My old sedans have become annoying to use at night though, because you sit so low and everyone else drives a CUV/SUV now you get blinded constantly. Was a factor in getting one myself even if I don't particularly like that body style.
