What vehicle do you drive?

I thought it would be a little cheaper. But, still a good idea and hopefully its executed well.

Not a lot of new information. I do think the range is a bit of a problem - 200 miles is not great, I think 300 is the minimum acceptable range for a new vehicle. It looks like they nixed their extended range variant - that's the only thing I'd pay a premium for.

I'm curious if the one pedal driving can be turned off. I'm in the minority, but I hate it - my leg tends to cramp up if I keep my foot stationary, so, I tend to accelerate and coast.

The product configuration is interesting. I guess they're going to just mail you a bunch of boxes? I'm thinking there's going to be a significant fraction of buyers that will not understand this and be quite butthurt when their vehicle arrives. Either that or quickly realizing they've bitten off much more than they can chew.

Some tesla bro told me they are floating a 15k EV tax credit…

I paused my “refund me” button press on the slate and r2 reservations lol.

15k off either would be perfect.. I just dont know if I would fit in the slate…

You can order it with everything installed, or you can order and DIY, or you can have a service shop install things.

$30k base for SUV. Meh. Double meh for 2WD only.

The factory installed wraps are going to kill them. Both time and manpower intensive to install.
Would it make it easier to install the wrap to body panels that haven't been put on yet?

No. That would clog up their production line. Originally, I heard the trucks were going to be delivered bare with the wrap kit ready to install by their delivery partners. Then I heard there is an option to have them leave the factory complete.

It is going to be a shit show unless they are DIY only.

Looking at their configurator on their site, it doesn't look like they're going to have anything factory installed anymore outside of the base body styles.

Everything just calls out difficulty to perform and possibly a targeted estimated price for professional installation. Their numbers seem rather optimistic - they're "targetting" the vinyl wrap professional installation to be under 500, for example. That seems awful low based on what I know people have paid for that on other cars.

The accessory wheels seem very half baked. Looks like they're just shipping you the bare wheels and then you'll have to transfer over your tires from the stock steel wheels - why bother, it's way overpriced compared just going to a tire shop. It doesn't look like anything is coming mounted/balanced since they rate everything as professional.

I still have my R2 reservation as well. However, we’re going to be in the market for something that can seat six in the not so distant future. My wife’s parents are at an age where they’re cutting back quite a bit.
Also, the rebates have been for first time buyers as well as other restrictions in the past, so likely won’t apply to us.
