C8 not that slow, guy was a meathead. I bet all his motorcycles have chicken strips.Just had a guy in a base c8 randomly come approach us at Deal’s Gap and spend almost 20 minutes telling my buddy and I he’d whoop our ass on the roads at the Tail. We invited him to run down 28 and at the end he was 4 minutes behind. THEN he had every fucking excuse in the book and “well I’ll just go get my ZR1” and on and on. Literally starting a fight with us. Dudes who got paid to travel the world killing people. He had to have been mental.
Anyway, Mustang guy was probably the same.
Yeah, it’s a good car, but he was wildly out of his league and he came up to us starting shit, which just seems stupid. In all the years and all the hundreds of people we’ve met and talked to, they have all been great. Polite, friendly, humble. Not this dingus.C8 not that slow, guy was a meathead. Some guys are idiot magnets. I haven't had a problem with them, but know a few guys who attracted them like flies....and neither did anything to warrant it. Some guy followed a friend home from the gas station because he wouldn't let him sit in his car. "I'll take Things That Don't End Well for $1000, Alex". Guy simply ran his window down and ran his mouth at him. Talk about finding the one person whose chain cannot be pulled on. Just so weird.
Miss my R32, love the new ones, but loathe the capacitive everything inside, and terrified of all the various issues that pop up. (mine did, other owners here do, it's all you see online)Did the New England Foliage run. Vermont to NJ and back. Saw everything from post-peak to just turning.
And did it with style in the 6SP MT Golf R...
And yo-- dude with the mustang, I know you wanted to road race, but this trip was for sight-seeing (and some side family stuff). I think I would have smoked you on the Taconic, but we will never know... and you'll be happier not knowing.

I put EBC rotors and pads on my Tundra. VERY happy with it. Completely transformed the braking.Ordered some new shoes for the car. Am pretty excited, but may still wait until summer and order summer tires before putting them on.
Also new rotors, pads, and stainless lines.

In a following people home story. I was in middle school, 2 step sister and sister with dad step mom coming home from church sunday morning. some dindu runs the 4 way stop and almost t bones us. dad flips him off and keep going. nog decides to follow us to our house. dad saw him behind us sped up basically slammed the car into the driveway sideways told us to get in the house and charged the dude in his car. guy rolls his window down and get s a 38 snubnose shoved in his snoot. that nog left so fucking fastYeah, it’s a good car, but he was wildly out of his league and he came up to us starting shit, which just seems stupid. following someone home is fucking wild. That’s risking death, or at the least, a beating and arrest.
I got the EBC rotors and pads for my 2nd gen Tundra. Emergency stop when a pack of deer jumped out in front of me and STOPPED. I was doing just over the limit 50+ in a 45 and brakes faded like nothing else. I had Michelin Defender tires on it. I drove it the next morning and 3 rotors were warped. Complete trash stock brakes.Wheels, brakes, and tires are the 3 things you absolutely can't be cheap about. Apex makes great stuff that isn't over priced. Forgeline would be the next step up I'd recommend. Also not over the top.

Strong brakes are one of the best feelingsI got the EBC rotors and pads for my 2nd gen Tundra. Emergency stop when a pack of deer jumped out in front of me and STOPPED. Put on EBC rotors, pads, new calipers all the way around, brake fluid flush and had new Bilstein 4600's put on. I recreated the deer strike after the brakes were broken in. Zero fade and those tires got to do their job. It feels 1000x better because it is 1000x better.
I put Michelin Defenders on everything I own. I bought a new Tundra. It came with OE Yokohama Geolandars. PURE trash tires. I tested them out at 35 MPH on ice flat ground and NO STOP NO STEER. I put Defender II's on it, and it was a totally different truck. I had to take my mom to the ER this past winter during a horrible snow/ice storm. Half the roads in the state were closed, and ALL of them were closed here. These aren't dedicated snow tires, nor are they studded, but they perform better than all dedicated snow tires save for Blizzaks and that other big snow tire brand. Dozens of cars and trucks in the ditch, and one guy behind me lost it and planted it in the ditch. These tires? Perfect. Even had to make my own road in spots. Tundra just had basic 4WD and not even snow mode. No slipping, no sliding. Parking lot to the hospital wasn't plowed in spots. Feet deep. Simply drove through it like it was dry pavement.
Dropped Ma off overnight, had to drive back in the F******G dark. Road to my house was snowed over. Had to steer via reflection off road signs. Ice, snow drifts, pure misery. Truck handled it like dry pavement. Ice and snow had formed new fender flares that stuck out from the wheel wells.
They are spendy, but even then about half of an insurance deductible. Easy purchase.
