This guy's previous film is great as well but this really upped his game. Spanish/Latin horror achieved this weird next level over the past few years, it's some dark stuff and they do it incredibly well.

Terrified was released on Shudder seven years ago. Nowadays, you can rent or buy it on Amazon for $3.99/$6.99 or stream it on AMC+. Anyway, Demián Rugna is working on the sequel to When Evil Lurks.
Rugna confirms that a When Evil Lurks 2 is in development, although dependent on funding: "We have part two written, yes, and we’re just waiting for the funding to come through. We have to make some script modifications to make it perfect, but the studio that wants to make it is already there."
