But seriously, I didn't like the combat system in the demo when I tried it much.
enemies do hit hard. there is a block/parry system, which not really worth engaging with as far as I could tell in the early game. better to just attack fast to stun lock, then runaway and regen energy to engage again.
if you do get hit, yeah. its 1 or 2 shot.
gun ammo is very limited in the demo. and guns hit like wet tissues. you can do it, but its a slow whittling down largely. im sure later game ammo is more readily available.
ship battles sucked. if you get downed its auto loss. so, just let your men fight. jump across kill one/two dudes. jump back to your own boat. repeat. trying to board the other ship and fight there sucks. they respawn, and you get stuck on corners, in edges, and shit, and fighting 3v1s.

Man, if only survival games included some kind of method whereby you could create your own "server" and tweak all sorts of things like damage numbers, spawn rates, day/night cycles, etc.
It'd almost be like your own version of the game that you could make as hard or as easy as you wanted. That'd be awesome.

Yeah early access. Small studio of about 50 and change where I would support EA. Demo was pretty rock solid. Would definitely appreciate good controller support though which I believe they said was coming, since I use my PC as my console replacement. It states on the Steam page full Xbox support but guessing this is for the early access component.

I got my home base lined up on a beach like a Mexican selling Oakley's in Cancun - Upgraded some stuff and got on the boat feeling pretty confident I could tackle what was over there. Long trip on that row boat basically with a bed sheet for a sail. Got over, promptly fucked in the ass by a 4 Star General Boar.
