What exactly is an extraction shooter? First time I heard that term was with the forever Winter game. I don't know if I've ever played one.

Sorry for my ignorance but I just don't buy games as much as I used to.
They are normally a PVP game where you are thrown into a map with other people. You run around looking for money or gear, if you die you lose the stuff you looted. If you make it out, you profit.

This game is similar in that you'll go into a map (pve only) where the goal is find the portal out while killing stuff, finding chests, do events. Doing that will earn you temp perks while in the map and currency to use back at the base to lvl up, research gear/spells and upgrade it all.

Okay that's what I thought it might be, like that tarkov game or whatever. I just never played one. I just named people were calling this and extraction shooter, but there wasn't any PVP so that's where I was going to confused.

I think it's more of a looter shooter type deal like remnant or even destiny.

I've been waiting for this to come out of Epic exclusive, and bought it on Steam release. I've put about 12 hours into it, and I am level 31 or so, Gnosis 2 (think difficulty level you have to purchase and achieve).

I've researched all the guns, and have been levelling them. Haven't even killed the Familiar (first boss) on the second map.

It is fun. Looks cool. Decent mechanics. Gunplay feels good. I think $47 leaf dollars is too expensive, but I will get my money's worth out of it. I am not much for PvP anymore, so this scratches my extraction shooter itch without having to worry about the sweaty opposition.

Really big update dropped, I hope this means they are getting closer to v1.0, haha. Great game for sure, but being in EQ for this long kinda kills the hype for the eventual release.

It has great bones and getting better, the latest map is vastly different from the first one, run down city it looks like. I was worried they were all gonna be outdoor variants like rocky coast, forest etc.

Just picked this up during winter sale on Steam. The atmosphere and gameplay are great so far, sort of like a mixup of Doom and Bloodborne but totally unique. Gun play is great, lots of build diversity, and really digging the solo extraction element. Would recommend at this price point if you're on the fence.

Remains really good, the fixed the difficulty curve so it ramps up as you get good. All the guns feel great, fuck those dog sized spiders though they consistently end my runs early when they sneak up on me while I am fighting something else.

They are spending too long in Early Access, by the time they are satisfied with what they've made, it will be dated and probably outclassed by that Covenant game.

I'm only about 50 hours in, and the game feels like it could go gold honestly but I have no idea what the team's end game is. My only technical issue with the game has been having to use the "Unstuck" menu option a few times now. My main issue with the game is the soundtrack. If it had some better music to match the gameplay and atmosphere it would absolutely slap, so I hope that's something they're working on.

Finally got my first taste of those spiders in Velmorne that Hatorade was mentioning, and yeah they're an absolute pain in the ass. I loaded up Shockwave light spell as my panic button for them, and when it's on cool down and they spawn it's frenetic as hell lol. Great game.

They have a roadmap for that stuff, it seems to missing stuff is basically one last zone and then a "story" with 1.0 being in 2026. I'd expect late spring/summer kind of release. I don't know how much a story will add to the game but well. I'm fine waiting a bit longer, there's a few other games close to reaching 1.0 that'll probably be finished next year that I have my eyes on, but for now I'm just going through backlog stuff until then.

Started playing again this past weekend. Last time I did play was with the Velmorne patch, though I didn't go into Velmorne because I hit that "lets just wait til release" wall. I start a new character to see how everything has changed since then, and it certainly has. Lots of stuff locked behind Gnosis now, even guns. I got bored of going through all of that, so I load up my original character... it had been reset down to Gnosis 0, but it still kept all the gear and their upgrades.

So I hop into Velmorne finally, and its great. Needs some polish, and a soundtrack, but its great. I do 6 runs to get familiar with its layout before heading down into the spider sewers and eventually spawn the boss. Almost kill it, but as has happened a lot, I dodge into a rock and get clapped by its slam. Oh well.

I go back the next day, and its a totally different experience. I couldn't get to the eastern half of the zone without spawning a calamity, and with only killing the Watch Commander and maybe the Gravedigger guy. In all my other runs (aside from the one where I fought the spider boss), not a single calamity spawned even though I killed all the mini bosses. Really odd, and I had only raised this characters Gnosis to 1 before taking my first trip there. Its like spawning the spider boss increased the base difficulty of that place.

lordy, spent LOTs of hours on this game past weekend.
still only brushing the surface but i like the progression and no hundred node upgrades. feels like d3 item build. feels like there is still alot for the devs to put together, for the better. its suppose to be released early 2026 but am more than happy to wait out. its my first Early access for the longest bit
