Best sports event in the world, nothing is even close to this. Gutted for Chile, they left it all out there. Unreal opening game, bring on the next one!

It's nice that the hosting country made it through, but I was pulling for Chile. They need to spend a little time reviewing penalties, I'd say.

Am I the only one that's happy Brazil got through?
If you don't count the Brazilian upper class, I guess so. They're a bunch of unfair playing floppers, it's a shitty World Cup location, I'd really hoped for an early elimination into civil war down there.

Well, here's to hoping Uruguay goes home today.

I dunno I guess you are just so...German.

I was loving that shit!
It was exciting, yes. I was talking about the quality of the penalties taken. The misses were just awful, so was Neymar's. The second hit for Brazil was also pretty poor, keeper would have had it if he hadn't picked a side or picked the correct side - that's really bad. Chile's first hit was perfect, Brazil's first penalty was also very good, their second hit was however also straight into the center. Not quite as bad as Brazil hit #2, but still quite risky.

Appropriate that the German is complaining about the penalty kick. Quinn not everyone can be like deutsch land, who have only miss one penalty kick out of 18... unreal.

Forlan is going to come in for Suarez and go ape shit crazy with the goals. Well, at least that's how it played out in my head.

I always wonder how the shooter lists are built... Having as first striker the guy who just missed the game winner seems like asking for trouble, as does asking Neymar to shoot when he was cramping during the last few minutes of the match.
