Tried to make my bag sorting addon work in WoW Forever. The API seems to be really close to Midnight, but not quite. For example, has no Blizzard_SharedXML/SecureScrollTemplates.lua.
The item categories still have things listed like "WoW Token" and "Housing", but Jewelry and Generic are marked as (OBSOLETE).

Because most of these "new" features seem to have been lifted from the competition. First name and surname? FFXIV. Food gives an XP buff? FFXIV. Where you have names like "Chad Thunderthighs", "Dancing Pope" and "Door Stopper", so it's not that this comes out of nowhere.
Meanwhile Blizzard deliberately left out their own QoL features, like shared mob tagging for quest progress. Probably because the "Classic" crowd would probably throw a tantrum.

So part of my fun with Forever is that I will only be using Addons that I made myself. You can find them here and I appreciate all feedback, mockery, and ridicule you may provide. These are suited to my tastes so they are all slash command/cli designed with minimal UI stuff.
OldManQuester makes some default windows a bit bigger because I am old and I play on Ultrawide. GatherMemory works like Gatherer but it only tracks the stuff you have personally collected and not drawing from a pool so you just know where to go. They also do a few other things I have only been testing this stuff a little bit. OldManQuest also puts golden highlights around quest items in your inventory.

My current annoyance is that you can't seem to remove the Day/Night circular icon from the minimap, but you can alter the minimap. I like a big square one as it fits the overall ui better. But I cannot remove the circular icon from it. I can move the calendar icon to the side of my modification though.

That said, I am 100% playing RP because they should at least police names a little there. While hilarious, I can only handle so many Pussyhound Extremus, Gigachad Chungus, Biggus Dikkus, Richard Hungwell, Fudge Tunnel, and other colorful characters in muh vidya.

The game already has those things in it. A few more isn't going to make a difference. I'm sure they look at as an accomplishment that they got him back to playing the game.
