Man, as someone who ran a guild for years (Vanilla through TBC) I still don't get having an application process like it was an F-ing job. Sure, you want to be MT or MH on the raid team, yeah, we're gonna need to see you prove yourself out for that. But my "application essay" for a guild now a days would be exactly this :

I'm the most absolute dirtiest of casuals. I like playing the game. People tell me I'm fun to play it with. My wife will come along and she a good enough healer to keep me alive. What do I bring to the table? I will , on the regular, make wildly inappropriate and borderline offensive jokes in both guild and voice chat. We all know that's a plus, if you think it's a minus? Well, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
