Yakuza Gaiden was on sale on PSN so I picked that one up finally. Seems to take place mostly in the smaller Sotenbori area and only has what looks like about 5 chapters like Pirate Yakuza so it is one of the smaller ones. I'm having fun with it though, beating the snot out of goons with Kiryu is always a good time.

Yakuza 0 is so fun, I been replaying it this past month and it’s so good. The business mini games to the crazy ass story; how can one girl go through so much shit???

I plan on playing a bunch of the yakuza games this year, cause I missed them growing up(I own 0 on ps4 and 7 on PC love 7 too) and they were on sale on PC this past Christmas. Funny story, I was going to play the splinter cell games this year but fuck Ubisoft and choose a series of games from a publisher that was insane last year

I dunno what Dark Ties is, but it's about time they did a Kiwami 3. The last one was seven years ago (Jesus). Unfortunately Yakuza 3 is kinda in the lower tier of the series along with 4 and 6. Found it fairly boring. It's super-heavy on plot and Kiryu's social life at the orphanage. Doubt I'll play it again.

This 0/1/2 collection will go well with the 3/4/5 collection they put out a few years ago though.

Finished infinite wealth. Which didn't have that much wealth. Miss building an empire of clubs and whatnot. Anyway, Pirate now. Love the tiger kitty, fun. And a return to fighting instead of selecting skills. Grinding away in Hawaii atm, love the rings, sea battles etc. Will see if I get bored and play some DoS 2 or some such.

Which one is the newest Yakuza / next after Hawaii?

Kiwami 3 comes out in like a month. Demo was released a couple days ago. Otherwise Pirates is the most recent. Did you play Gaiden?

Gaiden is basically "Yakuza 7". It's designed to be the parallel story to Like A Dragon, which was sorta Yakuza 7 but not really and definitely not called that.

LAD 2: Infinite Wealth is also Yakuza 8. After LAD dropped, they realized that people still wanted more of Kiryu's story, so they made LAD2 double as Yakuza 8 more officially (see how the infinity symbol is clearly also an 8 in the title). Before it came out, they released Gaiden to fill in the gap and give us a Yakuza 7 with what Kiryu was up to.

So basically LAD and Gaiden run parallel after Yakuza 6, then the two stories re-combine again for Yakuza 8/LAD2.

Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii was, I think, just them getting more mileage out of all the Hawaii assets created for LAD2 / using anything that was left that was unused.

Yeah, it's weird, but I get what they're trying to do here. Maybe I will play Kiwami 3 after all, since I've played everything else. It's either that or find an excuse to replay Yakuza Zero.

Play Gaiden next if you want brawling, for sure. That'll probably be enough to bridge the gap between when you finish Hawaii and when Kiwami 3 is out. If you care about the story, just be mindful of when each one falls in the timeline. Gaiden takes place after the main Yakuza series and right before Infinite Wealth. Kiwami 3 is going back in time quite a bit from there.

Hopefully Kiwami 3 is in 60 FPS. Did they ever fix Kiwami 2's 30 FPS issue on console to put it in line with Zero / Kiwami 1?
