Yeah, I'm not enjoying the meta game of trying to maximize my bond xp gains from Call For Backup.

Also while I'm bitching about annoying stuff in an otherwise great game, holy shit Runa is insufferable. I guess every game nowadays has to have an insert for the insufferable modern woman.

Yea she wasn't too bad, but definitely annoying. I actually really hated parts of Cly's story, but also enjoyed parts of it as well.

Story overall was decent. I actually liked the ending of the main story. It just felt like it had a tiny bit more to offer. Hawks was also a pretty decent character. I missed out on doing Tels mission because I had to make a choice between her and one of the other persons missions. Some characters definitely felt fragmented like Luco. Other times you can tell they were going to build a motivation or character arc somewhere but never got around to it.

the whole husband part was beyond fucking dumb. horrible modern inserts all over that story. really took me out of the star wars theme. could've been a decent story but the husband character was so bad. and cly's va also doesn't help her story either

Yeah, I think the story was great. And Hawks' VA did a great job, kinda like a mix of Mathew McConaughey and Rick Grimes (TWD). CLY's VA was okay, I think it's hard for most chics to voice that kind of character. The female Hawks was much worse. Brennic had a couple of standout scenes, but his delivery in the briefings was off a lot. Jae's "say every line in a throaty whisper" was pretty bland, but still more enjoyable than that cunt Ru. With Ru and Brennic, a lot of their lines it was the pacing and inflection were off. It's really noticeable when the others are so much better.

Off topic but seeing this come out made me dust off xcom2 and midnight suns which I probably bought on a sale and never played.
What is it about these games that they need to fill them with so much crap that prevents you playing the game? relations, base building, click through menu after menu, cut scene after cut scene, when all I want to do is get to the action?!

I just realized, Cly is a joke. Pistol, shock darts, dead husband (who was black, and I bet under that helmet she is too)...she's Black Widow.

I mean, she speaks the lines correctly, unlike some, but her performance is just flat. Not terrible, but phoned in. It's night and day compared to male Hawks.

I actually finally fired up Chaos Gate Daemonhunters. I can't believe I slept on this for so long.
