Watched "Dumb Money" tonight. The story of GME and Roaring Kitty. If you didn't follow the saga back then it's a good primer.

Ironically the movie ends saying that Roaring Kitty's last post on social media was some date in 2021 and that he retreated from public life.

Until yesterday apparently.

There's gambling and there's investing.

And then there is just buying the same stonks that our Members of Congress buy...

UNH is touching 2.5 year lows. Got some industry-wide bad news on Medicare payments recently. 10-yr historic PE is 20.61. Today's PE is 18.86 (nearly 10% below). It makes tons of money. It ain't flashy or fancy. Buy it, hold it, forget about it for 20 years. If this support level fails it could potentially see a drop to test 400 (another 10% below today's open). This $445-$446 area is a solid entry point for a new position if you want to own this type of stock. Earnings are in 5 days. This will test the current support level. Play the weakness now with an entry sized position, if it misses on earnings let the market over-react and add on that drop. Caveat: This depends on "why" it misses on earnings. If it just misses "expectations" ignore it. If it announces a fundamental issue, then reassess the position.

Full disclosure - I am and have been acquiring it in this price range.

I can’t believe i didn’t sell quicker, could have made 8k instead of nearly 4. Oh well just have to settle for a sauna instead of cold plunge and sauna.

Sold some junk silver a year or so ago. I had collected it in high school out of what people paid at the cash register. Been reading and more than site always says the price of silver has been going up due to industrial demand. No idea. I know electric cars have a lot of silver in them, but the price of Lithium has been falling like a rock and I'm guessing that was reduced EV demand. Maybe not, not really my thing.

I sold a bunch of junk silver earlier this year, when it was at like $23-24 or so. Kind of sucks. It was a bunch of quarters my wife had "traded" out when she worked at a bank over a decade ago. Think it was about $900 worth. Would've been an extra $300 or so had I just waited. But then, I really just wanted to clear the stuff out.

MSFT sitting about 1% above its 100-DMA. This level of support is historically very strong for MSFT. The last time it fell below was Aug 2023. Earnings in 7 days. It needed to let some air out in my opinion. Its PE had gotten pretty lofty and its still pretty high even with this move downward. That being said, if you were looking for an entry, this $400 - $404 zone would be a good entry purchase assuming its a long term buy and hold. There is a ton of air between the 100-DMA and the 200-DMA and blown earnings or some other bad news could easily see a fall down to the 200 at $367 and this needs to be prepared for. That scenario is a load up situation but for now this could be the best entry price we see if it gets the bounce off the 100-DMA and then hits on earnings.

Full disclosure, I am long MSFT and added today

Follow-up on this. MSFT breached the 100-DMA for 4 days and then bounced back. It dipped about 3% below this $400 range. It has now proceeded to recover and post a new 52-high in today's session. So just about 32 days. Buyers in that $390-400 range hit an 8-10% return in a month.

Well, I sold all my ETHE. Came out well ahead even after being down >75% at one point and farming losses off of it for 2 years.

Patience and averaging down.
