I lose interest in most arpg once the game comes down to just a loot grind.
Every arpg that I can think of boils down to the same thing, and I don't think there is really a long term viability to keep it fresh for too long.
I think part of it is the mindset that games don't start until " end game ". MMOs are in the same boat. Blast as fast as you can through the actual game, and then complain there is nothing to do....the game was the something to do.
PoE - do maps to do more maps
D3 - Do rifts to do more rifts
Last Epoch - Do monos to do more monos.
Everything virtually stays the same except numbers. Whether you are doing 100k dmg, 1 mil dmg, 1 bil, 1 trillion dmg....you are still hitting the same keys, for the same skills, for the same loot but +1 gooder.
Eh my LE build took on all kinds of new resource balancing and playability as I got the final gear.

The world ender node I got from the belt made things very different, and I had to take the 0 mana cost enchant weapon in case I multi proc the belt. Very, very different from what I started with.
