New gateways are great also. Even with crappy CenturyLink and WiFi I'm at 30ms ping or lower. Soooo smooth with lockstep.

Be careful with the new lightning thorns, it does flat damage per hit, so if you are running gmp / chain, etc you can gib yourself hitting shit off screen.

Any word yet on melee splash carrying effects or just doing damage? Viper strike being disabled leads me to believe it will carry skill effects, too, but I haven't seen one way or another. I love the animation on glacial hammer, would be sweet to have ae freeze.

M aelee shouldn't be too hard to fix. Make endurance charges last 30 seconds base and have it lock out ranged skills. That way you actually help melee builds and don't arbitrarily punish/buff classes that have ranged and melee builds. Melee also needs support gems that are comparable to...

Pretty stoked with the changes so far. Hoping to see some new viable Wizard builds emerge most of all.

The Hobbit has me a bit pumped up for middle earth, think I'll give this another whirl at least for a week or two. Is everybody on one server or is it all spread out?

I played this for awhile right after it got out of beta. Pretty fun game, but I got annoyed at the lack of inventory space. Still the combat was good enough that it deserves a test drive if you haven't played it before.
