Daybreak Sues The Heroes Journey EQ EMU Server Devs

The debate over license is irrelevant—Daybreak’s IP rights are clear, and they’ll likely win in court. No one seriously expects otherwise. What’s undeniable, and Daybreak should recognize, is that The Heroes’ Journey is by far the most popular version of EverQuest, and it isn't even close. This...

Daybreak Sues The Heroes Journey EQ EMU Server Devs

THJ is the best thing to happen to Everquest in the last 10+ years. Daybreak is in a death spiral and everyone that has paid any attention, knows it. As a fan of the game and the genre - I want to see innovation resurge to restore life to my favorite game. TBH I had given up much hope of...

The Heroes Journey (Multiclass EQemu Progression Server)

If they intended to do that - they would have done it without upsetting the community by threatening the most popular server in recent memory. The cost to them will be real. They already fucked up. Lets hope they come to their senses. Again, not expecting it.

The Heroes Journey (Multiclass EQemu Progression Server)

I feel Ion Blaze had the best response to the situation with THJ and Daybreak. I hope they listen but I expect they wont.

The Heroes Journey (Multiclass EQemu Progression Server)

I cancelled my daybreak accounts. Its the least I can do. If nothing else - I want them to stop sucking so much. The crux of all of this is multi boxing imo. Whales with multiple accounts represents a large portion of their revenue and I think that model is shit.

Worse, they likely blame the lack of success on THJ rather than their stupid TLP ruleset.

The Heroes Journey (Multiclass EQemu Progression Server)

Multiclassing: Players can combine three classes (e.g., Necromancer/Paladin/Druid or Warrior/Cleric/Enchanter), accessing all spells, abilities, and AAs from each. With 560 possible combinations, this allows creative, powerful builds like a "holy blender" (Warrior/Paladin/Rogue) or pet-heavy...

The Heroes Journey (Multiclass EQemu Progression Server)

The community could rally for THJ, but Daybreak’s track record shows they value IP control over fan support. It’s likely a lost cause.

The Heroes Journey (Multiclass EQemu Progression Server)

Daybreak could be rich if they were not so greedy (and lazy). I hope they lose it all and the community wins.

The Heroes Journey (Multiclass EQemu Progression Server)

I thought this as well - but I reconsidered. The way they are implementing this works for a single server. Think of SF and HC as leagues - similar to POE. Other than chat - you cant interact between these leagues. HC has its own economy and SF is SF. I expect SF guilds that work together -...

The Heroes Journey (Multiclass EQemu Progression Server)

Really enjoying this server and the unique take on the game. It has rekindled my love for a game I have played most of my life. I really didnt think this level of re-invention was possible. Kudos to the team for bringing this to vision to life. If you are on the edge of trying this one - do...

Its lag. It's not a new behavior but it is more exaggerated now. The market is held up largely by big tech and these companies are doing quite well despite everything. Even during Covid they thrived. They are so large that even if the remainder of the market was falling, we would still go up...

The only thing I understand is that gold goes up in economic uncertainty. It's a data point. But personally, I don't understand the rationale. If we experience a collapse at that scale - who is going to accept gold as tender? Even the bullion experts have trouble sometimes identifying fake gold...

The next 12-18 months will be dicey for sure. If I were in your position I might do the same. I am 15 years+ from retirement so I have lots of time.

I Was Wrong About Bitcoin. I bought Bitcoin when it was in the single-dollar digits, back when wallets lived on clunky hard drives. Technically, I still own it, but good luck finding that wallet file—pre-online exchange days were a mess. I rode the early hype, but even then I felt it had long...
