Yes... Salim Grant (Silius) is back with Daybreak. He has been there for a few months or more but finally was brought out from the depths to do a Livestream today.
It's Ok for an early-release alpha.
They haven't implemented any anti-cheat mechanisms so hackers/cheaters are rampant
They've also been changing the direction of the design specs... moving away from the original concept they pitched. Maybe this is where Silius has stuck his foot in it.
I think your math is off a bit there. 20k subs @ $15/month = 300k/month or 3.6M /yr Are you saying that a game developer could not maintain a released game for 3.6M a year??
3.6M would easily pay for a team of 10 to 12 and support staff/servers etc
If you are moving around from place-to-place and/or changing careers - Keep it simple - Rent
If you are gonna sit tight, have a predictable and stable job, and want the ability to make changes to your place, - Buy
Here's a little write-up from last week:Insight on Pantheon's Redemption | Ten Ton Hammer
"I think if they lay low for a while and get some of the legwork done so that this game can truly shine for what it is, they'll have a much better chance the next time they come around to market."...
