Reupped my ancient sub a couple of months ago and bought legion. Mainly because you all liked it so much and seemed so excited, it was infectious. And I really tried to get into it, but I failed. The invasions were kind of cool and so is the DH starting zone, but unfortunately, those were temporary. The main game is just too much of the same old thing for me.
I just don't understand the pull of this game, never did. Imho, it's just a bear skin run around with really, really crappy pvp. God, the world pvp in this game is the worst possible.
It's cool with me that it is so popular, and Blizzard does an extremely professional job of making this game type. But it just isn't for me.
Anyway, I won't piss here anymore here. Have fun.

I haven't played since WotLK. There isn't anymore crap like Blacksmithing/JC being optimal or optimal professions in general right? I can just pick whatever and it won't turn into a fuckaroo later on when I'm dumping X for Y to get a little bit more +gooder?

Doesn't work. Tried it twice. From what we've seen, there is set bosses each week, and you always get those bosses(everyone does).

Yeah, PvP is really falling apart despite Holinka's struggle. You can do some PvP WQs (fairly nice rewarded) but other than that everyone is going for some quick skirmish level to 50 and then back to the old arena niche.
The way the world is designed with all the cellular happenings, phasing and stuff there won't be much world PvP. Even people on PvP servers are complaining that PvP is such a time wasting effort in legion.
btw: what will happen if 6 months from now everyone is really done with WQs and Timmy, the ilvl 817 firemage wants to do a 35mio WQ boss? I really can not see this concept lasting the usual 18months at all let alone all your twinks need to fully quest 4+1 zones to unlock WQs. I am a bit bored after the third 110 to be honest honestly.

If you do lots of WQ, your bodyguard gets between 100 and 200xp per WQ. That's probably faster to level him/her/it than any non bonus xp mission.
Unlike Draenor bodyguards, your bodyguard repops as soon as you go out of combat; no 60mn timer.

They have variance. Right now I get 820-840 base. The higher they go, the less lucky you have to get with WF/TF procs.

I'm at ilevel 850, and honor level 14, had 2 PvP world quests giving out 840 gear, one of which went warforged and got me a 850 chestplate. Good times.

They don't scale in that you're guaranteed an upgrade, they scale in making it more likely you could get an upgrade. Otherwise, even casual outdoor players would be 850 in no time...
One dungeon WQ in particular was funny to watch, it was 805+ head when I opened WQ, the next day it was "Heroic" 825+, and when I did it with 8h to spare, it was "Mythic 840+" (and ended warforged at 850 with a socket).

Honestly most World PVP was always about griefing outside of fun times in Vanilla Southshore or something similar.
You want competitive PVP? Arena is highly tuned this time around. Gear not meaning whether or not you get instaraped? That is some fucking PVP setup beginning right there. God forbid your skill actually determines the outcome over how long you've been farming honor over someone else right?
The PVP talent tree is badass.
