I don't know if it's me or what but I remember WoW never ran so well on high settings like FFXIV does. I find the graphics better and the game has a shit ton of particle effects. I never get any slow down but with WoW I get serious frame rate drops and slow down.

100% this. My first job to level 70 was a DRK. Love the class especially coming from WoW as a DK. At level 70 and then being synced down to level 30 while having to run a dunegon with only level 30 abilities sucks ass. Certain skill defines the job and you won't have access to them until late...

You can play catch up but you're forced to do the MSQ (main story quest). You can bypass it and buy a level 1-60 job potion with real life money from the Mogstore. Alot of dungeons, raids, mounts, emotes ect is gated behind quests. Game is very quest driven.
