Yeah I do agree about the combat getting kind of boring. Like you said, you can basically set an entire combo to a single button and just mash. I didn't like how the other characters played either, Velvet's moves just worked together better I guess.
God damn and I thought I was strange playing fucking D&D on the weekends with buds in higschool. This shit is just fucking weird and my brain doesn't understand it.
Edit: The person in the blue sweater is supposed to be a "she"? ok..
Combat didn't really click for me until the fight at the end of chapter 3. But that was mostly because stuff died pretty fast before then plus not having access to the break/topple/launch stuff yet.
Yep, what you have there will work.
Orbs will stack; you will see them visually circling an enemy. And yeah, during a Chain attack if you keep bursting orbs you can keep the round going. Btw orbs have 3 "health"; an attack that is strong against an element(say Using a Fire attack against a...
Think I'm going to start off a gunner this time; I was a bit turned off from trying it in previous games due to needing a separate set of armor but now that's gone. Probably still try and keep a Switch Axe upgraded though, that thing is my jam.
The stuff in the upper right is the blade combo tree. Referencing this image:
Lets say I start a Dark combo with Rex with a level 1 Special(specials being the attack you use with the A key). To continue up the tree, I have to use another Dark or Light element special of level 2 or more...
Yeah there was a thread on ResetEra about this but I do think Xenoblade is probably my new favorite Nintendo franchise. XCX was a little disappointing to me but I'd be totally fine with a more story focused sequel.
Get the +agi chips for , give her agi boosting gear and equip all her blades with +heal on driver art and +arts agro. Best tank by far imo, she tanked the end boss w/o getting hit once lol.
Finally got around to finishing this. Really enjoyed it overall, much better than XCX. Last couple of chapters I just finished in one sitting, I couldn't stop heh. Only real issues I had were all UI related and a bit too many cutscenes toward the end but overall a really solid RPG.
Good time to jump in, patch just hit that adds a couple QoL fixes to the game(namely the map).
Not much to say in the way of tips, the combat system will take some time getting used to but it starts to click a little while into the game. Nothing is really missable so I'd say just play the game...
Hah yeah, it was the same when I got warglaives. Normally didn't bother with BGs but that period of time I ran with a couple healers and just destroyed people.
Yeah I run past shit too. From sidequests/merc missions I could easily give my party another 10-12 levels, but I want to keep them were they are at now for story stuff.
Getting Mythra set up as a crit build helps alot. She and Rex have passives that boost the party gauge whenever you crit...
