Damn. I searched for this thread and couldn't find it before I posted in the general news thread. Anyway, I am not sure what to make of the announcement. Money grab? Port to console and raise prices since it is 1.0?
I think I got through about half of this game but, as you said, I got frustrated with the combat. It was a real work of art though. A lot of heart went into that world and the story.
I played it for an hour or so last night on the recommendation of my kid. Kind of a meh experience. Not all that excited about. It seems like managing inventory is going to suck. Got it for free on Prime so no big loss. I'll give it a little more time.
Nice thing about the Sickle is that you will never have to worry about ammo if you manage the heat carefully. The thermal meter is small and can be a pain to try to keep an eye on it but you eventually just get a feel for it.
I have not tested the eruptor yet but the other three are my gotos as well. Sickle or Scorcher for bots, usually. Dominator is good too. Depends whether you prefer to spray or single shots. Sickle for bugs. Spray and Pray Shotgun is pretty good for bugs too.
Yeah Taleworlds is another great example of this. They've barely done shit the last 18 months. Meanwhile modders have been fixing their dogshit code since EA. Modders run circles around that retarded team.
I spent quite a bit of time yesterday going through the VNV directions. They did a nice job of trying to be very detailed about it. I nevertheless had issues getting it going.
It's one thing to run a single total conversion mod, like Prophesy of Pendor, that fundamentally transforms the game...
Thanks. That's a different archive than the one that was turning up for me when I searched.
It's crashing when I launch, though. I don't have the patience for this.
Figures I would hit a problem on the last god damn step of this VNV modding shit.
Anyone else done this recently? When I hit Mod Manager Download, it doesn't show up in MO2. If I do a manual download, there is not a loadorder.txt in the archive. Am I missing something?
Started trying to mod this last night using Nexus but ran into problems even trying to download the first mod, which was a 3-part graphics overlay. Actually, I installed the 4GB aware patch right before that and had issues with this texture pack. NMCs_Texture_Pack_For_New_Vegas

Precisely. If you actually were able to keep the team together long enough to make it to Mistlands, you found out it was an insanely annoying experience. What is it with devs confusing tedium with engaging challenges? Sure you have to have some grind and some frustration but so many games are...
I played the OG games, 1 and 2, to completion and loved them, but I have not gotten far into the others. I have started NV a few times but I never really get going. Weird how some games draw you in and other do not.
A year and a half since they released the previous biome and all they can come up with is "Ashlands will set your house on fire, LOL"? Could not have seen that coming.
When I started playing, it was on whim. I had not been monitoring development, so I didn't know 1.0 was coming. It had just been sitting in my library for a while and I finally decided to try it out.
Yeah I am maxed on gear. I have gotten 90%-100% blood and tried lots of different weapon...
It took me 3 times, I think, to kill Nick. Trying to kill Maja right now as she is the only one who provides something that might be helpful with progression. I have tried 4 or 5 times and have not really gotten close yet.
Now in Act 2 and this is a pain in the ass. I'm finding that I get these bosses down to about half HP and I have to bail because they domed me with some ultimate or 2 patrols rolled him and started winging fire bombs. I am maxed on gear and potions but this shit is still stupid hard solo. I...
I think I am getting a little better. My kid and I played together a bit and downed a couple more bosses and then it felt like I was able to get ahead of the gear curve a little and I started taking bosses out solo again. As usual, I think this is a game that would be a lot more fun and less...
Been playing it solo and really enjoying it although some of the encounters are a little tough solo. Git gud, I guess.
I really like that building is easy to change things.
Taking the California Zephyr from Chicago to San Francisco is on my bucket list. California Zephyr Train | Amtrak
Anyone ridden it? I'd probably bail before SF though because why go to SF?
I am not a big fan of either of the two new weapons. The Quasar Cannon has to spin up for a few seconds so you're standing there with your dick out trying to maintain aim. You don't control when it releases so you have to keep tracking. It's so slow to fire that you can't get it onto a drop...
The last time I played Valheim, the rest of the people I was playing with disappeared for a while so I went hardcore into iron. Find a swamp that has 5 or 6 crypts in it and park the big boat. Build a portal. You're going to be there for a while. I lost count but I know I had gotten...
I take back what I said about bots not being too bad. What the fuck? Strategems are jammed, can't see shit, lasers bolts flying all over the place, drop ships and patrols all over, people dying all the time. Level 5. Complete shitshow.
I am wondering if it is a good time to jump into this game or if it would be better to wait until they come out of EA. Looks like they have some cool stuff planned but I question how replayable it would be given that the map is hand-created.
I don't know what's going on now but every time I try to play I'm crashing. I'm in a mission and my display goes dark and audio stops and my PC is hard locked. Up to 4 times in a row now I think. It's probably their faggot anti cheat.
edit - I did see that my cores were running hot, even...
I played this a while back but it was my first time in the game and the people I was playing with were speed running so I stopped. I wanted to take it slower and experience the content a little more. That said, how is this solo? Usually I prefer to play these types of games in a group.

Yeah I think the honeymoon is over on this bullshit of constantly releasing bugs and being slow to address shit that needs to be fixed/tuned. For example, the Spear. In theory, it should hit really reliably and really hard since you only get a few and you're exposed during the locking time...
