Except the only thing that really made the game a little easier was the Master Key. The rest was pretty much junk.

    Thief (2014)

I can relate somewhat. Early on in my gaming career I got in the habit of "saving" consumables, cuz, ya know, I could use this now, but I might need it more later and wish I had it. So, I basically end up finishing games with 99% of all consumables unused.

Yeah, I get that. Could still be a mild form of OCD. It really depends on the person's reaction if they are unable to/prevented from satisfying that urge. Maybe not a panic attack, but even if it makes them slightly uncomfortable/irritable it could be a problem.

Not really. You can trade it to Snuggly yeah, for a junky souvenir of reprisal. And the director's statement made it sound like the pendant was a really important item.

It wasn't so much that the item itself was a troll. It was him hinting in the interview that it had a use.

    Dark Souls 2

Doesn't sound like that to me. It says "increasesdifficultyof enemies" so I would assume more hp/damage, maybe more aggressive too. I remember from a vid, that the devs made an announcement during the network test that they were going to make enemies tougher (somehow did it on the fly during the...

Finally some clear descriptions of the starting gifts. Dark Souls 2 Wiki - Gifts Kinda have to go for Petrified Something, since I find consumables to be a waste. The ring is still as useless as ever, but at least it's not a trap this time. The seed sounds like a cool way to troll dickhead...

    Dark Souls 2

Here's a vid from a guy who got to play the first few hours of the game at the Namco offices in London, contains some early spoilers but no gameplay footage. Just linking it here because the beginning contains exact starting stats for each class and the names of all the starting gifts. Dark...

    Dark Souls 2

Someone pointed out that "Black Armor" is spelled wrong in the display shot, on that Siliconera article. Unless they are actually selling a black love edition. Also, just noticed, that "while supplies last" is from the consoles collector's edition and refers to the knight figurine. Seems...

Thanks for the info, Sean. I was desperately hoping the late April release date was a fake, so I wouldn't have to wait an additional 6 damn weeks for the game. Thanks for shattering my dreams, bro! j/k *limps away, shoulders slumped in dejection*

    Dark Souls 2

Yes, I'm not arguing that, I'm just talking about coding-wise. They've been cross-developing with the pc in mind from the start this time around. I don't see them needing an extra month and a half for the pc version. I don't know all that much about the process, but wouldn't they be rendering in...
  14. Raes

    Dark Souls 2

Yeah, April 25th seems a bit far, the PC version isn't going to bethatdifferent. It's just some better textures and a different control scheme, right?

    Marvel Heroes 20xx

I'm pretty sure the only things that really need ongoing Marvel approval is the hero models/costumes, which gets done well before any coding starts for that hero.

I don't use a controller, so I can't speak to that. And yeah, GFWL is shit, but I never had to use it, since I played offline. I've put several hundred hours in, and the only glitch I ever encountered was a single fall through the world when sliding down a ladder (which I've done many times with...

8 Starting classes. http://fextralife.com/forums/t25899/...rting-classes/ There's a rumor that there may be 2 more yet to be announced, since both previous souls games had 10. Interesting that they went from every class starting with a shield, to just 1.

    Dark Souls 2

I've been trying to figure this out myself. And it's been difficult to decipher from various vids, plus there have been changes between the time of the network test and the recent "almost complete" build some people have access too. As near as I can figure, as of now, it's affected by both...

    The Originals

All the Rebecca shit is lame retconning anyway. All made up in the last few episodes to add drama. Remember how the only reason she came to New Orleans was cause she was worried about Elijah, then was leaving again, then turned around to help Elijah again. Then all of a sudden, she wants to take...

    Dark Souls 2

Yeah, wasn't sure where he got the idea they were equal. Pretty much everyone agrees that playing on PC w/controller is vastly superior to the console. I saw a guy in one of the network test vids using that power-stance two weapon hit, he was dual wielding greatswords.

    Dark Souls 2

It could just as easily mean "in each area". Pretty much everywhere in DS1 could be considered "near a bonfire." Except fucking New Londo Ruins.

    Dark Souls 2

"As I experience some difficulty getting past this stone man, I'm told that certain enemies will only respawn near each bonfire a certain number of times, which the PR rep estimates to be about 15. However, you'll need to actually kill them rather than simply respawn at the bonfire for this...

    Dark Souls 2

Yeah, I've heard about being able to reset the limit. Which, in my opinion, makes even less sense. Let's add a mechanic, supposedly to reduce farming, then add another mechanic to give you the ability to negate the first mechanic? And this item, is it a drop you have to farm for? An item you...

    Dark Souls 2

What I meant was, for the less skilled player, boosting health and stamina is much more effective than boosting dps stats, since combat skill is primarily focused on defense. You can pump your dps stats to max if you want, and it won't help you at all if you can't stay alive. Boosting health...

My opinion differs from yours, so that means I'm the idiot? Good to know. I'll never understand why people bother posting on a forum if all they want is to talk to people who agree with everything they say. Oh, no, I can't think of anything else to say, I guess I'll just call him an idiot. So...

    Dark Souls 2

Don't really understand the obsession with the term "levels." Outleveled? The only stats that really matter are stamina and hp and health is just a buffer for your actual skill level, the lower your skill the more health you need. And with the new hollow mechanic (losing % of max hp, to the max...

    Dark Souls 2

I've killed plenty of enemies more than 15 times. Whether farming for souls or items, or just practicing combat moves, or trying different weapons. Hell, I'm doing a playthrough now with big/slow weapons only (because I hate them, but want to improve my skills with them) and I've killed the...

    Dark Souls 2

Those one kill enemies in DS1 were like 1-2 per area. This sounds like quite a bit more, otherwise, why mention it? Also, all black knight kills were optional, and on side paths. What you're proposing is pretty much the opposite of what they've stated. In your scenario it would be like they were...

    Dark Souls 2

So, I've been thinking about this new mechanic that removes tougher enemies after you've killed them 15 times and I really don't like it. It's supposedly to prevent soul farming (which I don't agree with, farming for souls/items should be a player choice) but, I don't buy it. I think it's just a...

    Justified (Season 5 - Jan 7th)

Yeah, it's a really short shot, like 3 seconds, and easy to miss. Boyd is talking to Johnny, and the camera cuts to Daryl who turns his head to look at Danny. Danny looks back at him and Daryl gives a very slight lift of his head, then turns back to face the other dudes. As he does this, you can...

    Dark Souls 2

Eh, learning to play the game trivialized it. I didn't even start parrying til I was nearly done with my first playthrough, and hardly backstabbed til my second. I was having trouble with it because I didn't know you had to stop moving first. Not to mention that neither even works on a lot of...

    Dark Souls 2

Removing a lot of i-frames, tying speed of dodging/blocking/parrying to a stat, things like that. Go watch youtube vids of the network test. You see a lot of people with plenty of DS1 experience getting slaughtered repeatedly. I mean, they have to do it, but how do you keep doing it without...

    Dark Souls 2

Yeah, it's one of several controversial changes. Backtracking is now unnecessary, but even if it was, the whole hard-enemies-only-respawn-a-limited-number-of-times crap makes it less of an issue anyway.
  39. Raes

    Dark Souls 2

Yes, from what people have said, you get the warp ability from the start. I think you have to activate each bonfire first. I don't recall exactly.

Karl Urban would be the only reason for them to even attempt a second season. The writing is just so lame. Omagerd, she's blind! What a twist! Fucking genius! Ugh. Felt like I was watching an after school special.
