    Dark Souls 2

I find it interesting that the only way the devs can provide challenge for players who have mastered the previous game is by tweaking combat mechanics in ways that attempt to somewhat negate your acquired skill, which at the same time raises the bar of entry for new players quite a bit. Kinda...

Those archers can be easily cheezed with a bow and some poison arrows. You can arc your arrows to hit them while being out of their range. Takes 2 or 3 shots each, then you get to go make a snack. There's a lot of fights that a bow will trivialize, especially with a bow of pharis and the hawk ring.

Makes you wonder if they have any idea how many times these shots are going to be used on the internet for years to come. Such a perfect gif.

Well, it does. It's pretty much exactly the same game with slightly updated graphics. As far as combat, pretty much the same except parrying is slightly harder and the backstab animation is now retarded. Supposedly enemy AI is slightly improved, but I wouldn't expect too much from that.

The black knight? They can be a bit rough when you first start out. Just block their attacks, watch your stamina, and go for the backstab. Or since there's a bonfire right there, use it as an opportunity to practice your parry/riposte.

Don't you mean snapping as a "human"? Seriously, is there any one of you who wouldn't react pretty much the same? You've got a gun on you (for whatever reason), you're in a guy's house and you find two children chained up and one of them is dead. Wouldn't your first instinct be to end that...

Woody is absolutely not carrying this show. Is he a good actor? Sure. I've been a fan since NBK, he's done some fine work. Can he emote? Yeah, it's called "acting." What Matt does is much harder. He is conveying his character with the set of his face, the look in his eyes, and the rhythm and...

For elemental damage, it's helpful against mobs/bosses that are weak to that element, especially when your stats are low or you don't have access to the higher embers yet. For the others, they are primarily for people who are using a high int or faith build, since they switch the stats that your...

While I don't agree with the theory that Hart is the bad guy, to add to your "evidence" of said theory is the fact that Hart refused to leave Rust alone at the meth lab and go call for backup.

    The Following (Season 2)

Bacon, Purefoy and the young fed guy are good. It's the followers and their stupid, weird drama that drags the show down, IMO.

    Lost Girl

It's not so much that Bo is a bad character, it's that Anna Silk is a terrible actress. It's everyone else who carries the show, mostly Kenzi, which is why it gets really weak when she's not in a scene. I've often wondered what the show would have been like with a decent actress playing Bo.

    The Following (Season 2)

The only reason to watch this show is to see Bacon shooting motherfuckers. I get really annoyed how in most movies cop/fed will say "don't move or I'll shoot" and they don't follow through (Key & Peele actually did a skit on this). Ryan Hardy doesn't do this, if you move, you die.

Lol. Like any of that matters. MMO's don't succeed or fail based on their marketing. If the game is good it will get the best advertisement/marketing there is. Word of mouth. Or, more accurately these days, word of keyboard. And I can pretty much guarantee they aren't just going to focus their...

    1. It's possible, yes. Doubt it will happen anytime soon. It's especially hard for publishers to gauge because of our history of pvp mmos. So many failures, and no real successes. They don't have a "WoW" to look at and say, "look, that's how it should be done, let's clone it a dozen times."...

There is nothing fundamentally different between 100 vs 10 and 60 vs 40. You didn't want a fair fight, you wanted to win, with little to no risk. "we would bring enough to win." "Your "human nature" argument is incorrect. People want to play a game and want challenge, especially PvPers,"...

The point is, while there are a few exceptions, most people want reward with little or no risk. It's simple human nature. The only reason why itappearsthat this kind of behavior has lessened since the UO days is that most games include things in their design to prevent it as much as they can...

I think you're getting a little too lost in your whole wolves/sheep analogy. You can't compare MOBA's to mmo pvp either, they are completely different. Sure, the vast majority of mmo pvpers are wolves, not because they "live by fighting", but because they prey on the weak/defenseless (sheep)...

    Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Looks like fun. Although, I get the feeling that the original design was just set in a generic fantasy world, since the wraith abilities are pretty integral to the game and have zero to do with Tolkien lore.

Don't think it's the make-up. They do this thing where they reverse the shot, mirror it. Someone who knows more about the process can explain it better. But, yeah, still a continuity error.

    Ender's Game (2013)

That wasn't the issue. The issue was that Ender had to be able to do whatever it took to win each battle. He thought nothing of sacrificing half his available ships (or all) to win a single engagement, because they were just game pieces to him. He had no idea there were hundreds of people (or...

    Ender's Game (2013)

It wasn't conveyed as well in the movie as the books, and you have to suspend your disbelief a bit, but all they needed from Ender was the ability to use the Fleet in battle extremely well, and more importantly for him to think it was a game. So he would do anything to win, and not realize he...

There was plenty of sex in WoT. It wasn't shown all explicit in the books, but Rand was banging three chicks. Lan bangs Nynaeve eventually, Perrin and Faile, not to mention Mat and his escapades. Did you read some G rated version?

    XCOM: Enemy Within

While there are a few abilities like bullet swarm, heat ammo, low profile, that are nice to have, there's also quite a few that are useless and the classes that usually get those tend to be weaker without them. And it's really hard to get stuff you need like field medic and lightning reflexes. I...

    XCOM: Enemy Within

I prefer the flamethrower on my first MEC. 6 (and later 9) damage in a huge area, plus panic (usually) is great. Sectopods aren't an issue. I typically run with 2 snapshot snipers, and disabling shot lets me deal with Sectos at my leisure. I recently did a couple I/I runs with ballistic weapons...

    The Blacklist

    Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I've never agreed with or understood this distinction. A mutant is by definition a mutated human, they are still human. Is someone born with a genius IQ or green eyes not a human? If you believe in the theory of evolution we're all mutants. Does that mean humans don't exist?

That's an easy one. BBT gets better ratings because it has a laugh track (studio audience, same thing essentially)...so people know that's it's funny and when to laugh. Seriously, most people are that retarded. Sorry for stating the obvious. I do find Sheldon entertaining, but most of the...

The only decent stats on that unique are the strength and durability, which IM doesn't really need at 60, unless you have a melee heavy build? And leveling it to 60 won't change those two stats. You could level it to 40, which is reasonably cheap, but I wouldn't go farther than that.
