Dad died yesterday. After 99 days in the ICU and 20 in acute care nursing, cardiorenal failure became unmanageable. My mom, sister, and I were with him as they disconnected the vent and pushed morphine to keep him comfortable. Thankfully he went peacefully and quickly.
